For you, yes, but at least it was something I could use. It might have had crap quality, but it was all I had considering that I don't have a smartphone and my laptop broke last month. (Deemed "unrepairable.")
Whenever I try to load a video from my subscriptions now, it buffers indefinitely and freezes the buttons and touch screen, making it so that closing the app is the only option. It does this no matter the video or what channel it is uploaded by. Searching for the video rather than tapping it from the subscriptions makes no difference either.
This app is officially garbage, and now I have no way to get onto YouTube when I'm not at home or on a public computer. Thanks for the half-hearted effort, Google. Maybe there's another (although fairly minor) reason to upgrade from 3DS to New 3DS after all.
Heh, the Netflix app, here in Mexico... They only released it briefly for download... And from day 1, it was completely useless, there was simply no way to make it work.
In the case of YouTube, you can still watch videos in the web browser if you have the new 3ds, I think.
Edit: checked on my 2ds and yeah, it seems the videos don't load. Who knows though? They may fix it.
I have a person on my friend list who is always in YouTube whenever I see him online, I feel bad for him.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll check it out tomorrow when I'm out. It had had still been broken this afternoon for me.
In general, the only app I've had a pretty great experience with was the Hulu Plus app (ironically enough). It was a bit glitchy at first, but the more I used it it actually got better for me. (There were even some times where I got no ads, lol.) The quality was better than YouTube IMO, and it had a lot of content. (But man, the quality on the Wii U when I was able to connect it to the internet was amazing.)
Alas, I had to cancel my account for a while... I might get it back soon, actually. Debating weather or not I want to pay extra for no ads or not. I'm probably one of the only few people who liked Hulu.
The YouTube app was rendered completely redundant with the release of the New 3DS, as the browser itself can run YouTube videos just fine (and in 3D!).

I do not have a New 3DS. If I did, I'd be playing Xenoblade on it right now.
I got it to work yesterday on both my 3DS and 2DS. I'll try again today and see if it still works.
I certainly noticed that my systems have been a bit touchy in regards to online connectivity lately. Sometimes it takes me multiple tries to enter the badge arcade or checking in in Pokemon shuffle.
