I'm also in Australia and my Australia debit card has worked so far in the Canadian e-shop

if it helps someone I use the website www.secondspin.com for used games, they bulk charge 7.99 for shipping to Australia no matter how many games you order so its a good deal if you are ordering several games. Of course since its a used games website they do not have the latest ones. I also found a site www.importcds.com that have reasonable shipping prices to Australia, just ordered Zero Escape last reward for them but can't vouch for them yet until I receive it

Whenever I use the Canadian eShop it asks me for my zip code for Credit Card verification, do you just enter a random Canadian zip code?

I seem to remember it asked me for a province, I looked online for the one with lowest sales taxes and used that one, don't remember if it asked for zip code but if it does try browsing one from the province you used and put it...... Maybe they have updated the eshop since I entered the card and can only use it since its already saved but I don't think so because there has not been any major system updates since.

Hey Blathers, great news, I just followed ferthepoet's instructions and combine by what you suggest by random Canadian postal code... and it works!!!
I used Prince Edward Island - C1E1P9, the tax was around 5 USD. Now I'm downloading Fire Emblem Awakening. The downside is that it doesn't give you nintendo coins. Can't complain tho...

You can get Nintendo coins for north american club nintendo just go to the eshop settings and click link with a club nintendo account
