Topic: R-Button is broken on New 3DS

My New 3DS XL fell down a flight of stairs the other day, and now the R-button is broken. It doesn't seem to click anymore, and I think it might be broken for good. Does anyone know if you can fix this before I decide to just buy a new one?

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

@gcunit Thanks, though the guide I read is pretty vague on what to do to replace the button. Do you happen to know?

@gcunit Yep, that's the one. On Step 9, it just says to remove the shoulder button, but it doesn't say how to fix it.

@Nintendoer I'm not sure anyone can tell you how to fix it if you can't say what's wrong with it. Sounds like you need to open it up and have a look. As you take it apart you'll be able to get a better idea as to why it's not clicking. Maybe the spring got jammed/moved/broken or the button just needs re-seating, or maybe something plastic broke and is in the way somehow.

Presumably you've already tried wiggling the button about and given it a few healthy slaps...

@gcunit I probably will open it up to look. The problem is that while the R-Button still moves, it doesn't click and register the press.

@gcunit I actually tried hitting it and wiggling it around yesterday, and now, while it doesn't click, registers presses if I push really hard.
