Topic: Portable Games vs Console Games

To start, what do you think is better console mario or portable mario personally I prefer portable mario and what do you think mario will be like on the wii u!!

Feel free to discuss whatever game series e.g. pokemon, zelda, metroid, you like, and whether you prefer it on a handheld or home console!

It doesn't matter if Mario's portable or on a console.
When are his games not awesome? I love them all!

Well Galaxy and Mario 64 are some of my absolute favorites. So I'll go with consoles. But seeing as the 3D games are now going to handehelds as well I don't think I will be able to choose. Mario's games is and will always be awesome for both consoles and handhelds.

Id have to say console mario.

I can sit for hours on a console game but for some reason I only use hand helds for short periods, just a quick 5-10 minute fix here and there.

At the moment console, I loved Super Mairo 64 and Galaxy 1&2.
But because handheld Mario's are now becoming 3D (Both Polygon and Stereoscopic) it will soon be handheld.

Console Mario.

Galaxy > New SMB....... but ATM if they released the same Mario game (or any game) on both the Wii and 3DS and I had to pick I'd go with the 3DS. Purely because it's a Wii that isn't tied to a TV.

So Wii Mario over DS Mario but 3DS Mario over Wii Mario.... and I guess Wii U Mario over or at least on par with 3DS Mario

My favourite mario game is mario DS hate supermario bros wii too hard like mario galaxy a wee bit!!

Super Mario Bros Deluxe (GBC) is one of the best Mario games of all times in my opinion. So many people don't even know it exist, and tracking down a copy can be quite difficult.

To answer the question though, I'd have to say I like them both. I love my Mario 64 on the home console and I love my NSMBDS too.

Considering we've got both 2D and 3D Mario games on home and handheld consoles already, the time is coming where soon there will be no difference between the two, i think. Hope everyone likes both!

Console Mario all the way. Super Mario 3D Land looks way too crunched up with the 3DS screen size. I'm sure it'll still be a really good game and plenty of fun, but the Galaxy games and NSMBW have a special place in my heart.

portable. you can play 2D or 3D mario on the go! I know, i know, the best games are on the console... but you can play mario- On the go!

I prefer 2D Mario on portables for some reason. I can go either way for 3D Marios now that there's a circle pad (wish I hadn't sold Super Mario 64 DS...).

I like both equally. Though console Marios are without-question works of art, handheld Marios are now at a technological point where they can match their console brothers.

Console Mario games. While the handheld Mario platformers are normally awesome games, they're not normally of the same level of quality as the console Mario platformers.

i like both. i have Super Mario Bros for the Wii and I had the one for the DS. I liked them both equally.

I'd have to go with portable. Seeing as you can get the same experience on a handheld, and seeing as I don't own a Wii...

By the end of the year, handheld versions will be on the same level as their console counterparts.

Well that's the thing isn't it. They designed it to be like that because it's a portable game but there's no reason why they can't do something more or less identical to Super Mario Galaxy on the 3DS if they wanted to. People might talk about how the portable versions have to be smaller experiences because of nature of the medium but OoT3D worked fine so.......

Which is why that game needs to come to virtual console.
