Pineapples have nothing to do with apples or pine trees. Strawberries are not even berries (but bananas are). The Flying Fox is not a kind of fox. Koala bears are definitely not bears. Etc.

Clearly Pikachu wouldn't get an Alolan form. Its design is intrinsic with the game's marketing policies by this point.

Suicune is easily a dog.

Entei could be a breed of dog similar to stoutland with the saggy fur.

In the short they're apparently just... Dobermans.

In my opinion none of them appear 100% feline or canine. I think that Suicune looks most like a dog/wolf, Raikou looks most like a sabre tooth tiger, and Entei is somewhere in between dog and lion.

It just makes the most sense to call them Beasts, after all some Pokemon are not 'one animal' but a mix of different animals, real or mythological. But beast can accurately describe all three of them.no matter what they are

I can let it slide with Entei since it looks like a Lion-Dog type creature. However, Raikou clearly resembles a Sabertooth Tiger while Suicine is reminiscent of a cheetah.

Meh, this discussion could go on forever but the best answer is beast since that fits anyone's description of them whether it's feline or canine.

I wonder why more people don't debate on Eevee, since it's not clear what animal that is either. Some of its evolutions look dog or fox like while some seem like cats (especially Espeon)

The rest if it wasn't for the tails being either too short or too big would easily be cats. Umbreon, flareon, jolteon, and sylveon don't have cat tails at all and share more dog trait tails. Their bodies and facials however would qualify as cats.

I think they're just a hybrid of both, cats and dogs.

Tbh I've never really questioned Eevee or its evolutions. It's always just been...well...Eevee!

@Tyranexx I could agree about the first two (except that I would add that Entei is a lion that stole mermaid man's mask), however, I don't see how Suicune looks even close to a cheetah. Not only does the snout is more comparable to a dog, but also the head and body structure, specially if you look at the back.

Besides, now that I think about it, the same could also apply to Entei. The tibetan mastiff does look similar with the exception of the snout looking shorter on Entei, but it doesn't have to be exactly the same and there are many dog breeds with short snouts: http://pm1.narvii.com/5763/a0dab640dbe67150b72cf766b749263fd5...

The only one that resembles more a cat is Raikou, and even that one could be considered a hybrid since the face definitely looks cat-like but the body resembles more the body of a dog.

Eevee always looked more like a fox to me. Probably just a weird hybrid of things.

I just want to talk about how Mega Evolutions are back. I mean, it's a minor point that didn't really need conforming in a lot of people's eyes, but we've thrown so many words at the subject in speculation that I feel it needs some sort of acknowledgement . I was pretty wrong in my "they're holding it back for a reason" hypothesis. There was nothing very new of groundbreaking revealed at the time. It was just, "they're back!".

Also, a door mouse is not a door. A mango is not a man. And a panda is not a kitchen utensil
