What are the advantages in using a flying team instead of a pyre team? I see people use Lugia, Salamence, Braviary. I know Braviary has Sky Blast but it's not really all that different from Pyre. Also Lugia's Eject+ does nothing in this competition.
I also thought about using M-Ray but since I only have used three candies on it and have no more I'm better off using M-Gengar, especially since I don't have B-Blaziken.

@Nego: People are using Lugia since it has, along with Salemence, the highest AP of any flying Pokemon (100).
I tried with a flying team with Salemence (max), Lugia (max), Skymin (7) and Braviary (8). I managed 29k points, but with a Pyre team of Charizard, Ho-Oh, Heatran and Delphox (all max), reached 38k. Tried the same on another 3DS in which I've caught M-Blaziken, and managed 36k, but changed Delphox for Reshiram.
I think that the way to go is with the last team (better if you have Delphox), or with Charizard. If you time your moves well, combo inducing M-Pokemons are the way to go.
@maceng@Rikaria Thanks for the tips, it helped! But I will have to wait until a week from now to see where my rank stands. Until then I'll practice and try to catch and train stronger mon (like Salamence which I need to catch). Thankfully there's only two items available so it doesn't eat up my coins!
I think the real problem I'll have with this competition is making sure each of my moves count. With timed battles I just go for as many combos as possible, but now the x1.5 damage timing and move limit puts a lot of pressure to make each move as quickly and effective as possible. :/
@maceng: Yeah, I know Lugia and Salamence both can have up to 100 AP. I've maxed out both of them. What I was saying was that when it comes to AP from leveling up, the Sky Blast team does not differ much from the Pyre team: both Reshiram and Ho-Oh also have 100 AP when maxed out. I guess it comes down to Salamence's Hitting Streak but then again, if you always activate Braviary, it's not going to be of much use to you.
My ranking has dropped to 1205/20152 over night which is something I'm not fretting about. It did spark me to try again with M-CharY, Reshiram, Ho-Oh, and Delphox. I got 27k without items. I think it's a viable team but I'll be spending some time trying to level up Braviary for now.

I got pretty lucky with combos in the Mega Sceptile competition just now. I went with M-Charizard Y, Reshiram, Ho-Oh, and Delphox (all maxed) and achieved a score of 94 017. Currently it means that I'm placed 175/35 878 in the European ranking. It also should hopefully be enough for me to get both the Sceptilite and Raise Max Level lollipop since the score to beat for them is currently 71 256.
I don't really mind if I miss out on the Raise Max Level item though and I won't be trying the stage again. I'm pretty happy on how I did without M-Blaziken or full-candied M-Rayquaza.

Ah, thanks for the tips on Landorus. I guess I should max out Virizion. I'm currently only 1076 exp short after all.
@Rikaria: What level is your Zygarde 50 %? Or 10 %? I caught Zygarde 50 % on around level 22-25 but don't want to level it up before I get further on the escalation battle.
My team currently is M-Gengar, Latias, Dragonite, and Xerneas, all maxed out. I'm on level 41 now and the team has been pretty good so far, especially with Dragonite's Dancing Dragons and Xerneas' Quirky+.

I switched to M-Latios, Dragonite, Latios (all three at max), and Zygarde 50% earlier today and it seems to be working well. I'm on level 52 now (I think). Too bad I still haven't caught Goodra.

@Rikaria: Well, I missed angry Zygarde 50% at level 92, so I expected to trigger later on, by level 97 or 98. It didn't. It triggered, finally, at level 102 taking me to level 105.
I have spent like 60 hearts (I had a ton saved), and I'm currently at level 126. So, after leveling Zygarde in both forms, as well as Goodra for a bit, I'm planning to finish this EB by Saturday or Sunday at the latest.
By the way, am I the only one hat thinks that there are too many Dragons for a game where they are of very limited use?
@Nego: You probably meant M-Latios, Dragonite and Latias, I guess. I think that Goodra might be of help later on, but Zygarde's 50% form is very useful with its Barrier Bash+ trait.
@maceng: Sorry, I don't get what you're saying, especially since you were guessing I was using the team I said I was using. : P M-Latios, Dragonite, Latias, Z50%.
I don't have Goodra so I won't be using it at all. Right now I'm not even encountering it on the escalation battle either.
I also switched Latias to Zygarde 10% right when Zygarde begun spawning it as a distruption. It's working well so far even though I still have it on level 1. I did use some items to get Zygarde 50% to level 6 though so at least that one is not too bad anymore.
I just reached level 90 on the Escalation Battle and sadly don't have time to continue on tonight. I've failed to beat the battle only once so far and that was on level 50 with a bad team and without items. So that being said I'm pretty happy with my run so far.
@maceng: Ah. That makes sense. Yeah, I did mean M-Latios and regular Latias. M-Latios can take less candies than Latias so I figured out it evolved faster than M-Latias.
