Don't remind me. I'd love to get me a Porygon, but I don't like the idea of gambling for hours on end in order to get it (particularly as save states are not an option in this release). And I don't have the luxury of Wi-Fi trading or breeding either.
Regressing to Gen I is sounding worse and worse by the minute. =P
Porygon did nothing wrong.

Going back to a Pokémon game without breeding or shiny Pokémon will feel odd after all this time!
I have Red and Yellow so I think I'll be downloading Blue

Can't you just purchase enough gambling money to buy porygon or something? I forget exactly how it works in those old games but I felt as if I just purchased him back then lol
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
I assume that it will be available in another hour and a half after the direct. I have a suspicion that it may be released in the Wii U eShop as well (with SGB borders and colours) or perhaps announce a surprise release of FireRed/LeafGreen, though I am curious as to how this will be handled given that Nintendo are too lazy to accommodate multiplayer modes for GBA/DS games on Wii U, and that it would be impossible to "catch 'em all" in these versions of the game.

Bought the Yellow 2DS Console (the bundle definitely sold me on the 2DS) which arrived earlier this week. Put a few hours in (mainly leveling Pokemon) and just beat Brock.
The game is exactly as I remember it from my youth. Nostalgia overload. Had Red then Yellow back in the day, will probably buy Red at some point but no need for now.
Haven't owned a handheld since my Gameboy and enjoying it like I was 12 again! Have never played another Pokemon game after the originals so for me, Yellow is perfect and it's great to be able to play it again.
Slightly considering yellow now that they confirmed you can transfer Pokemon. I dunno, I like something about keeping your Pokemons after you finish the game in a game you never reset. Of course if I end up buying Poke Bank storage I may as well just put them all in there.
@DefHalan: That's what I did. Dratini's a little expensive but you can buy Porygon no problem.
I would have never guessed Weezing was so useful until I played a HeartGold Nuzlocke! My YouTube Channel! Video game related, of course! My Pushmo Levels
In the video they said you couldn't transfer Pokemon from GB to GBA games, but I thought RSE still supported the cable trades with GSC. I thought you technically could get a Pokemon through the original games to the current ORAS/X&Y via trading through games. I got bashed to death on this very website and not supported by the mods a while ago when I made one mention that you couldn't trade GB to current gen, and was told off on how to do it. Trade Red to Gold, Gold to Ruby, Ruby to Fire Red (via cable, to get it to an infrared trading game), then onto the DS and once it's there it's a free for all. "Simple as that", the only snag would be is if the Pokemon can't make it through the Time Capsule between Red & Gold. I for some time thought there was a barrier, a news article made me question it at the time, then I got attacked LOL Now Nintendo comes forth with a video saying it's not true. Okay. What.
Lol oddly enough fans obviously don't know which way it goes because I had thought of that trade path quite some time ago and just never tried it, but mentioned it at another time and was told it doesn't work. I guess that's what happens when half the fandom are children making things up or who don't know what they're talking about anyway.
@Dankykong: that conversation sounds familar. I was probably on your side cause it always felt weird that I couldn't trade from older versions to Gen 3 but then they started to do remakes and I stopped caring about the older gens lol

@DefHalan: I remember someone was on my side lol Maybe it was you, but I more or less inquired about it being possible, I didn't say "UR WRONG! IM RITE!" in that thread lol. It made sense to me not being able to trade backwards though, after the Time Capsule's explanation, I always assumed each new game was keeping up with the present, therefore each previous game was in the past. Plus up until a couple gens ago, I always thought it was weird that people would go back and play old Pokemon versions when we had the new ones right in front of us. I kind of thought they'd always keep it where you can't trade with the previous gen. Of course that was like 12 years ago now!
the thread is ancient btw at this point, like 2010 or 11, so don't bother trying to find it. I had an old account as well, which I've long forgotten what the username is x_x So no bother trying to dig that up
I'm getting anxious, I wish it had a midnight release. I wonder what time it'll come on.
Eh screw Jigglypuff. Evolving Clefairy into Clefable for my team is irresistible.
