I wonder if it'll cost a bit less on the eShop. Either way if I intended to get the game it would definitely be through DD. I don't sell games often, and when I do there no longer worth much.
After allowing games to be patched and seeing that New Super Mario Bros. 2 is going to be Nintendo's first directly-downloadable retail game, I'm happy that Nintendo is starting to move along and has the motivation to catch up with everybody else in terms of online capabilities.
Also, Sony_70, complaining about Twitter in the title of the thread just seems like a self-absorbed comment. And it's not even a funny, made-while-I-was-drunk one!
EDIT: As for what format of NSMB2 I will (most likely) be getting, I'm probably getting a physical copy as Nintendo doesn't have the most solid and console-transferable solution to online just yet.

So the way its announced the eshop will be run two ways. You can buy the digital hams directly for nintendo or from one of nintendos parnters (gamestop,GAME, etc) and retailers can make digital price changes.
WAT!
Hey check out my awesome new youtube channel shingi70 where I update weekly on the latest gaming and comic news form a level headed perspective.

I'll be going the eShop route. Also I just texted my cousin that FE was coming stateside and he got all excited, so now I have to break it to him that it's not the case (yet).
Their new strategy of making games available in stores and digitally is very interesting. I think it would be AMAZING if they included some type of coupon in all retail copies of games with digital counterparts that entitles the buyer to download the digital version as well at a greatly reduced price. This would be the best solution for me since I'm a collector and will not be going all digital but it would be very nice to HAVE a digital copy in addition to my physical copy. I hope Nintendo will consider something like this.
But nintendo direct from Europe and NOA registering domain names. It has to come seeing its nintendos first doc based game.
I don't doubt that.
EDIT: Also, this sounds like it's coming eventually to me: "Although we have not decided on a plan to release it overseas, we hope to further increase its sales."

Which is weird because wasn't it announced for Europe? I think this is a mistranslation

I had a feeling NSMB2 would be the first digital game.
I'll be getting the digital copy of that game as well as Animal Crossing. He doesn't say it directly, but he throws Animal Crossing and some other titles like nintendogs in regards to "daily games" where you can take them with you all the time on one system.
Cannot wait to have Smash Bros. as a digital game as well So, I already have 3 retail games on my download list. 16GB is good, but as games start to get bigger, I might have to boggle down with digital downloads and pick up retail copies or just simply upgrade to 32GB, which, by that time, would be cheap anyhow. Hope Nintendo opens up for 64GB SD Cards like they opened up SDHC for Wii through an update
On a second look, I don't think NSMB2 is actually going to be a retail/Eshop game. You'll notice at the fifth slide on this page, it just states that the digital-and-retail system will go live when NSMB2 releases and doesn't actually state that NSMB2 will be a title in that system.
