@TBD, I made my topic before I saw this one, before I posted in this one.
I wanrted to discuss a game coming out on the eShop so I went to the eShop forum and saw no topic had been made about it. So naturally, I assumed that nobody had made one yet.
Other people in future will make the same mistake I did. The Japanese release being retail will be in the back of people's minds when it gets closer to release date. It will only be thought of as an eShop title that should be sold at retail but isn't. After all, who here will be buying the Japanese cartridge? One or two at most if at all.
So I will say that it is this topic that is in the wrong location and it is this topic that should have been locked.
This topic was in the right location at the time of its creation, and the game is still physical in form. I don't see any confusion in keeping this thread open. I think more people know about this thread now anyway. Locking this thread just to make another thread in the eshop part of the forum just because of its debatable form is a little silly and unnecessary.
Kept repeatedly pausing the English trailer, and discovered that the defendant in the first case is named Juniper Woodrow. Capcom just loves its name puns!

Honestly this is the 3DS section I dont see where its says that we cant discuss digital games here as well for the 3DS. Me personally I see the eShop section more for games like Gunman Clive for example games. I mean if we want to use the logic that Bass XO is using we might as well put the Super Mario 3D Land thread and the StarFox 64 3D thread in the eShop section as well since you can get those games on eShop.
Regardless of the placement I think the reason TBD kept this one open and locked the other one is because the amount of responses this one had of course thats my guess. I can't speak for TBD but thats why I would have locked the other one and kept this one open.

I hope they re-make all the Phoenix Wright games digitally on the 3DS. I wasn't able to get them when they were in stores but now I can find any of them in local stores.
Well, if you're not opposed to online shopping, you can still get new copies of most games in the series for less than $20 at Amazon.

The exception being Justice for All, although I've noticed the price has seriously decreased on that one too.
I've been meaning to get into the Ace Attorney games by ordering the Nintendo DS releases off of Amazon, and that might be as far as I go as I'm not too fond of the fact that this game will be digital only. Otherwise, I would've made Dual Destinies my first experience in the series. I might still get it if I really enjoy the previous entries.

When do you guys think it will be released? I'm hoping September or November, I'm concerned that releasing on October along with Pokemon could seriously hurt sales.

Yeah...I think I'll go play Ace Attourney soon so I can see if it's worth grabbing the other 3 before they go bacj up in price...
Given how soon this game takes place after Apollo Justice (about 1 year later, IIRC), how young Trucy Wright still is and how important she is to both Phoenix and Apollo, it probably wouldn't have made much sense for Trucy to be a no-show in DD. But I'm quite glad to see that both she and especially Ruffles are returning nonetheless.
I really would like to know how the Fey clan is doing these days, though. They don't even have to technically be in the game, since their whole saga was wrapped up pretty neatly by the end of the original trilogy, but it would be nice to have a more direct reference to Maya and Pearls this time.
Thanks @RevolverLink for that. Even though it is a fairly simple demo, I've made a small guide for it for those who need it.
To navigate through the demo:
-During the first cross examination, present the rhino doll at the fourth statement.
-During the Mood Matrix, select “Happy”.
-The second time, select “Sad”.
-When the judge asks, present the rhino tail.
Details from the demo:
-Apollo was in the courtroom at the time of the explosion (as was guessed by many), shielding the defendant from the rubble.
-The time was 9:22 AM, Dec 8th, at the start of the conversation in the lobby. The time court meets is 9:46 AM. Why not the original 10:00 AM time?
I was more excited than I maybe should've been while watching today's Japanese ND. Particularly when I saw a certain returning character from the original trilogy.
Pearls and Kristolph return! The only ones left unaccounted for are, oddly enough, Maya and Gumshoe.
Pearls looks noticably taller, and she is still wearing her training clothes, meaning she came from Kurain. This may mean that Maya will come with her too, or that we can go to Kurain ourselves. In either case, I find it extremely unlikely that she won't appear at some point.
As for Gumshoe, since Edgeworth is here, I expect Gumshoe will be there too. Perhaps he will get in a fight with the new detective over who is a "real" detective.
There is a lot hanging on this game selling well, not only the possible localizations of AAI2 and AA v. PL but also the chances of getting other visual novel style games in the west such as time travelers..... I hope it sells well, I"ll be buying day one
Totally agree. Let's hope there is enough downloads to sustain. It sucks that we miss so many amazing games. At least this way we'll at least get to play an updated AA on the 3ds.
Pretty girls game too!
Hello Kitty is my homegirl. <3
What's a MILF?
Really excited for this game. However, since it's download only how many blocks does Fire Emblem Awankening take up for those of you that have downloaded it? Im assuming this game wont be bigger than that but knows?
