Hey, I'm a MH lover, I'd love it on any console. But if it's a matter of Wii or PS3 and 3DS or NGP I'd take the second choices any day. Not only are they technically more capable, but in both cases the second option has a better control scheme, which is crucial when it comes to these games.

@pixelman Be careful with 3ds monster hunter, The single analog means difficult camera adjustment(like the psp)
You'll have to have an impressive "claw" to reach the d-pad on the 3ds compared to the psp

Not if the camera is controlled with L+ABXY and items are put on the touch screen.

Ok, cool. Choose the second choices. I'll pick the first as those are the choices I really have. In all seriousness, if PS3 gets an MH title, I will no doubt get myself one for MH and other neat PS3 titles I have an interest in. As for the NGP, I'm going to have to hold off on that even if it gets MH (which is pretty much been mentioned as "in the works"). Maybe when NGP Slim or whatever because the analogue sticks are going to worry me if they break, mess up or snap in my pocket. Then again, there's always a back pack. I guess I like aesthetics of portable systems and thus why PSP3000 is obviously better than the original model. I do question why there is no online support for the PSP titles. I know P3rd has an online feature but it isn't anything related to multiplayer. And the PSP games can be patched just like 3DS.

I'll take first and the third choice any day the camera controls suggestion for MH made by pixelman works for me any day
@alexsays you're right there but right now I really can;t think of any new series to bring to the 3ds cuz Ijust can't wait to get my 3DS and SWC Yep you're right there's soo much Hidden potential of the 3ds that people who haven't played it or just simply hate it for no reason ( nintendo haters u know who you are) but any game made for the 3ds that looks good and has a good gameplay and storyline/ characters, there will be MANY btw, will surely have a potential customer in me and others who also find it to be worth buying. But you really have an excellent point there

Explain moving the camera and dodging/attacking at the same time? I know I've done that plenty. and how would scrolling through items work on the touch screen? the DS touchscreen isn't so precise (especially while using thumb), and having all the items on there at once would make it even worse. the only games I've seen on the DS where thumb is used on touchscreen usually involves giant buttons.

/me goes into Ashiee mode

Edit: I just realized that most of the people wanting MH on 3DS started with MHT on Wii... connection? hmm...

Haha, it's just the elitist Sony fans who can't deal with the idea of a game they like being on another platform. You should see the Unity forums, holy crap. o_O

If MH3D is announced this month, I'm positive it'll be a P3rd port. Partly because they can play off of the 3 in the name, but mostly because it means less work and ports are what Capcom's doing on the 3DS right now.

Well said Pixelman that place is a warzone and sometimes I really wanna give them a piece of my mind >.< (like Slater you should know who I'm talking about by now)
Oh and your idea for the cam controls is just simply awesome been thinking about it whole day and how It'd work

played a LITTLE on the ps2. the game was great, but didnt have the chance to play online. in understand all th hype around it, so i hope there is a 3ds version of it.

this is the game that would make me addicted.

Papa_Godzilla

Eel

Well, my idea of having the items on the touch screen would be more like this:

Stats Map stuff what ever
BIG ARROW - BIG ICON OF CURRENT ITEM - BIG ARROW

you would still need to scroll through them. YAY GIANT BUTTONS!

Woah...too much reading for me...lol. Well I'm still hoping Nintendo in general will continue to get more Monster Hunter games, they can make it work on the 3DS.

Explain to me how you could do that in Tri (without clawing). Your right thumb can only be on the face buttons or the right analog stick at one time. It's exactly the same with this scheme, except you press and hold L instead of moving your thumb down to the right analog stick. If moving while attacking while dodging while moving the camera matters is that important to you, you'd probably figure out how to do the reverse claw (or just play it on a PSP, haha ). I never had a single instance where I needed to do that though.

On the right side of the screen there should be a few large icons for items (like potions) so you can tap them quickly with your thumb, and then smaller icons for the stylus (like traps and stuff). Obviously it'll take a bit of thought, time and precision to tap them correctly, but it takes thought and a lot more time to scroll through them in other MH games too. :3

I kinda like abgar's idea of having only-giant icons and scrolling through them by sliding your stylus or thumb or whatever, though that'd have to be tweaked to perfection, haha.

My first encounter with Monster Hunter was on my friend's PSP. I never knew there was a Monster Hunter game for the Wii while I had one so I never got it or played it. That being said, I'd be very happy if one came out for the 3DS. My reason for this is because, well, I have a 3DS and it would be nice for the chance to own my own Monster Hunter game.

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

actually, big part of me wanting a 3DS MH comes from wanting to rub it in my sony fanboy friends faces.

btw, i started on the PSP, and was the main reason i got a psp.
