Being a guy that has been playing this for a short while now, I thought about making a thread where other players can tell me about the armor they use. Sooo....what do you guys have?

Low-rank: Wroggi
High-rank: Volvidon S, Duramboros S for Goldbeard
G-rank: Helios X, then a custom armor using parts from Azure Rathalos and every variant of Nargacuga

I use hammers, but I've been experimenting with SA, lately. My custom set has Evasion +1, Challenger+2 and Critical Eye+3, I think. Currently using Lucy SA

I'm using a full Agnaktor Set on all ranks as my main armor, with the G-rank version having Mind's Eye as a bonus skill. Of course, I also use Agnaktor weapons with it, primarily the Gunlance.
Aside of that, I also have Nibelsnarf (with Thunder Saw LS or Portsmark HA), Barioth (with Edel's Ice LS), and Bnahabra (with Arca Insntatia HB) as active sets on G-rank. Occasionally, I use Gold Rathian (with Carmilla Bloodsucker LS or Guild Knight Sabers DS) as well.

Nothing beats full Jaggi armor. Anyone who says otherwise has never used the full set.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

When I finished playing I was using the full Lagiacrus armor and my weapon was the Dios Blade (GS). Don't think I specifically intended to get Lagi armor, but it seemed to be a very popular quest whenever I was online, so it just worked out that way.

It's really cool, but no armor is universally good - except when you're a Gunner, then it becomes a winner's robe! ^_^

Thats great! I'll try the full Jaggi armor sometime.

Right now, I'm hunting for one more Lagiacrus scale to make the arm guards and after that, I guess I'll be pretty satisfied with my armor set.

I don't know, Helios X is pretty much good for any blademaster weapon.

I use a whole bunch of armor and weapon sets but my latest one is the tricky and fun HR gigginox armor with the good old Grimmig Katze Switch Axe it works wonders on monsters that refuse to stand still.
but my favorites by looks are the Wroggi(blademaster) and Bnahabra(both the blademaster and gunner sets) armors!

Just in case you aren't playing along, I was being sarcastic.

I think I'll give up on rath heart armor that last rathian ruby is refusing to come it doesn't seem worth the trouble as not only that armor is average at best but it also looks a little too girly(if it was better the looks wouldn't matter, like they didn't when I started making it early in HR and didn't have many other HR armor options yet)

That's the problem I have with the Los and Ian armours, they always require a Ruby or two somewhere along the line which makes getting the armour more hassle than it's worth, except in GR of course. Definitely a good idea, especially the Silver and Gold variety.

To be honest, my interest has dipped in this recently, there's no armour or weapon I can make that won't take a week or more to get, simply because of those darn rare parts or the really hard monsters on GR. Can't be bothered, too much effort. :/

Jaggi is actually a very good armor.

Yeah, but I meant the low rank armor. As in the first armor you get in the game. Unless it got seriously buffed since Tri it cannot be anywhere near good O.O

Low rank Jaggi Armor is good in both games

Well whoops. Sorry about that XD. I thought there was some kind of boost one gets when wearing a complete monster set of armor and the jaggi is the best.
