I thought they gave us a date already... :c
Ah well, hopefully it'll be tonight then.
Nintendo didn't offer up a date for the release of Miiverse, but they did say it was coming in December. The extended maintenance occurring today makes it seem likely that they're preparing to release it sometime this evening or some other time soon, but most likely tonight yet if you're in US time zones.
Ok i asked this before and I haven't found an answer for it yet. Will Miiverse on 3DS allow us to take in game screenshots much like Wii U?
Here's a quote from the official website for Miiverse on 3DS:
"In addition to typed messages, you can attach screenshots of compatible games and gameplay sequences while you're playing, or use the Nintendo 3DS touchscreen and stylus to create a handwritten message or drawing while in the game."
I don't think so. Look at the link @Hale-Bopp shared. It shows posts with screenshots of Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon.
Basically, if you press the HOME button, it takes a temporary screenshot of the game currently being played, and you can post it to Miiverse. (To see how this might work, launch Game Notes while playing a game. It'll give you an idea how it works.) The "compatable games" likely means games that have a community, as you can't post in-game screenshots on Miiverse if the game your playing doesn't have a community.
I know AC:NL has a built-in screenshot capability; is that maybe what it means by "compatible games"?
I'm going to take a guess at all first party games have the ability, taking photos in Animal Crossing and Pokèmon is a little bit different. Whereas say in Luigi's Mansion 2, or other games, you simply just tap the home button, go to Miiverse. Done. Just like on Wii U. I'm going to assume third party games will not have a Miiverse community though. It would be much more difficult to add every single game all at once. Whereas Nintendo can just make 'the important communities (first party and exclusives)' and just add third party games as they go.
I just tried and I got an error! Errors are good signs, right?
Everytime I check to see the eShop it alternates between "Under Maintenance" and "An error has occurred". I'm waiting for it to either go to the main page, or say "A new update is now available! You must update to use Nintendo eShop."
