it's nintendo's social network, aparently... I don't have a WiiU so I'm not sure, but the idea of sharing things about singleplayer game makes it even more interesting, I mean like when I was a kid and would chat about my favorite games all day long with my friends! then some stuff happened.... let's just say it's personal and unrelated.....

What exactly ~IS~ Miiverse (Wii U)? From what I've researched, it appears to be a friendly (meaning "monitored") Nintendo social system that allows for brief, quick messages to other players "inside" Miiverse. Is this correct? If so, that would be a godsend for me: I absolutely LOATHE Swapnote but it's the only available 3DS app for messaging other players. I'd love to be able to message my Friends List buds about AC:NL, for example, and get an immediate response instead of waiting for someone to write or respond to a Swapnote (which most of my Friends List buds don't even bother with half the time, myself included). Not to mention the annoying spam Swapnotes you receive from some players.

I originally saw the Miiverse video on Nintendo's YouTube channel but it was so short and didn't really explain much. Don't know how I missed that link. Guess I wasn't thinking about it since I don't have a Wii U. Anyway, thx.

@mamp no worries! what's in the past's in the past... the only thing I miss is having gaming friends in real life... that's not really a problem

Also I can't wait to get Miiverse on my phone, it'll keep me even busier during those moments when there's nothing to do at school except using the school's Wi-fi for social sites.
So, does anyone think a Miiverse will be released around tomorrow, after the maintenance? I think they will, and I'm pretty excited for it! (Sorry if I bumped the wrong thread)

Personally, I think it's going to come out approximately on the 20th.
That is a rumor. Take it with a pinch of salt. Although, it could be after the maintenance, since the maintenance is 10 hours long(!), but I'm still going to keep my expectations in check.

It will work like those applications do.
No need to download a separate app from the eShop and you can open it when other software is open.
I'm so excited to be able to finally use MiiVerse.

Probably sometime shortly after 8:00pm PST, since that's when the maintenance is scheduled to end.
That's 10:00 P.M. for me. Seems a bit late to distribute a system update...
Actually, I think the one with folders came out really late, too.
The way I figure it is that they're working on maintenance all day all the way up until 8pm PST, so it makes sense to me that they might release it in the same evening since they're already working on it, even though it seems late in the evening. Plus, Nintendo often does midnight releases for games, so time of day doesn't seem to be too much of a factor for them.
