After the recently released Luigi Mansion ,maybe there is a small chance to release other hits from Game Cube on 3DS.

What do you think ?

I would love to see other games from GC in the pocket edition for 3DS.
The switch is a bit too big for a pocket console, therefore i support spiritually 3DS all the time

I have a lot more different consoles and computers, but my favorites are:Atari 2600,Atari 800XE,Atari 130XE+Stereo+ 1MB Ultimate+ Side i sio2pc,Atari STe ,Amiga1200,NES,WII,NEW 3DS XL,Mega Drive,PS3,PS4(Vr)

if it had stereoscopic 3D, I'd be all in.

but considering
1) the 3DS is on life support
2) Nintendo forgot that the 3DS has 3D functionality

it's not gonna happen

It would be very cool and I am sure that while Nintendo stopped developing NEW games for 3DS, it wouldn't be surprising AT ALL if they released more ports. However, the next game that they should port is Super Mario 64 in 3D, obviously. Just like Ocarina, Majora's Mask and Star Fox 64.

While I'd be okay with a port of MP1 done right, I find it very unlikely at this point. Nintendo seems to be slowly putting the 3DS out to pasture; the few games left to release are mostly remakes and games that took forever to localize.

Currently playing: Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir (Switch)

That would be weird. Tbh, most of the recent ports/remakes I'm pretty sure were made partially because some equivalent was on 3DS already. They made the Mario and Luigi remakes because they had Mario and Luigi games on 3DS, they made Luigi's Mansion because it had a Luigi's Mansion. Probably the same with the 3DS port of Woolly World itself being why they're putting Epic Yarn on it.

...so I guess this would be Metroid Prime with the Federation Force engine? That would be...something.,..

we don't need resources used on ports of remakes.

I always thought that because the ds had the internet discontinued, they would have made metroid prime hunters for 3ds. So disappointed. Prime Hunters was my favorite online multiplayer game ever. Best controls imo too. I use to headshoot people while in the air in the big lava stage and they use to quit. They probably thought I was cheating with these airborne headshots but no, accurate controls and skills.

My 3DS has the best Nintendo 3DS browser games. 2011-2019.

@CharlieSmile They can pay another studio to make them like they usually do.

@subpopz Right, Metroid Prime Trilogy makes more sense on Switch. Super Mario 64, however, would be wonderful on 3DS. There is something about N64 games that look perfect with stereoscopic 3D on 3DS. Look at Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Star Fox 64. Awesome.

@BlueOcean But there’s already a DS port of SM64. Making another port for 3DS would be a waste of time and resources.

A few years ago I would have been all over this but for me it makes more sense to see the trilogy released on the Switch now.

@PolarExperience Well, no. Firstly, you can't compare the DS and the 3DS visuals nor the stereoscopic 3D, not to mention the DS doesn't have the analogue stick which is necessary for playing Super Mario 64 as intended. Plus, that downgraded port was long ago. Secondly, it's not a waste of time or resources because Nintendo always earn money with these ports when they hire a studio to make them and they don't even work on them but just supervise.

@PolarExperience : On that note, Nintendo are remaking Bowser's Inside Story for the 3DS, which was originally released on the DS, so it's not like unnecessary ports/remakes are an uncharted territory for Nintendo.

@Silly_G @BlueOcean While a port of SM64 could be possible, as far as I know, it is unprecedented. I’m pretty sure Nintendo has never made a port of a port, so why would they suddenly start now?

@PolarExperience It's not a port of a port, the DS was a downgraded version with extra characters, my god... And well we've seen weirder things like @Silly_G said.

@IRATA4 Not interested. I have barely touched my 3DS since Switch came out. Gamecube games on Switch have been at the top of my want list since before the Switch even released.

Metroid Prime on the 3ds probably would look choppy tbh. I think its easier to visually update OOT, MM, SMB64, but MP from the gamecube era would probably do better with a port to the switch in HD. It'd be like having twilight princess for the 3ds, pretty sure it couldn't handle it unless they remade it with Metroid prime hunters graphics.

@Araquanid I think you are underestimating the power of the 3DS. Luigi's Mansion looks quite solid on it (being a Gamecube game just as Prime), as well as Resident Evil revelations which I imagine is as demanding or even more than Metroid Prime. If we ever see a port/remake ( we won't, 2018 was a clear sign of that) I imagine it can be quite faithful to the original game.

I am imagining Luigi's Mansion is a special case since it was originally meant as 3D game but it just wasn't feasible to produce in 2001. So they did the port to bring their original idea to reality while promoting the upcoming sequel. Two birds with one stone.

I like seeing ports of old games on the 3DS rather than mediocre new ones as the 3DS appears to be wrapping up at this point. This a great way to gives fans something without developing games for a dying platform.

I think that at this point, we might as well get the Trilogy on Switch.

Own up to Joy-Con Drift, Nintendo. We all know it's your fault
