Would this be a good memory card to use with my current 3DS with the adapter it comes with, and as well as the upcoming 3DS that uses micro SD. I'm gonna go for either the 32 or 16GB.
Mini SD to SD adapter work just fine for pretty much everything. But you have to remember: The more contacts youre dealing with, the more prone to error the whole thing gets.
To talk little about a grey area here: I got myself a flash card for my SNES to play translations and used such an adapter. Id that it works flawlessly 90% of the time but rarely has hicups. Nothing a quick dis- and reassemble cant fix though
I dont think that the 3DS will have something against such an adapter.
BUT, and heres the important part:
To use the SD from one 3DS system in another, you need to do a system transfer. For that, BOTH systems need to be running, meining BOTH systems need an SD Card if i remember correctly.
But look it up, there should be a guide on NL about the whole process. I did it once when the 3DS XL launched and never again, so my memory is a little clouded
Does the new 3DS (d*** it, that new name's like a pun coming back to haunt me) even support micro SDXC cards? I hope so. I know the last one supported regular SDXC cards, but support on the new one may stop at 32 GB SDHC ones, but I'm not sure. I'd hope it does. Best Buy has some good deals on SanDisk ultras (16 GB for $15).
By contacts? You mean, how many devices do I use it for? I just plan on using it for the 3DS XL and the "New" 3DS.
The adapter will make the memory card compatible with what I have now?
And when the new 3DS comes out, I could just use the same card without the adapter?
