Topic: How good is the New 2DS XL?

So I've noticed that the New 3DS XL has been discontinued in Europe and I could do with a replacement as many of the buttons aren't working properly (right now I can technically only play strategy RPGs). Is the New 2DS XL a good replacement even though there's no 3D feature?

Bought one to replace my 3DS that stopped working. Won't lie, I used the 3D feature quite a bit and miss that but the 2DS does everything else just fine. If you don't use 3d a lot, 2DS is a perfectly suitable option.

I have 2 new 3ds xls and might get a new 2ds xl. They are very comfortable to use and for the right price! I think you should get one!

I'm guessing the rest of the planet is right around the corner.

I have an interest in this topic as well since I'd like to upgrade to a newer iteration of the 2/3DS family in the next few months. I have an OG red 3DS from the Super Mario 3D Land bundle that was available during the 2011-2012 holiday season. It still works like a dream and has had very few hiccups over the years (though I do really baby it), but I'm concerned that I'll start it up one day and have nothing but a black screen or something. I'd still like to keep it around as a backup system.

I'd really love to get a N3DS XL (well, a normal-sized one really, but we all know I'd have to pay way more than one's worth at this point....Curse your lousy decisions, NoA....) since I love the 3D effect in a lot of the games that I've played. Plus, I think they look sturdier than the N2DS XL. However, painful as it would be, I can ultimately live without the 3D effect. The main thing I find attractive is the N2DS's lower price point.

New 2DS XL is Basically New 3DS XL Without 3D Slider.
Just only that.
From the body size, a little bit slimmer than New 3DS XL, but still have Exactly Same Monitor size as New 3DS XL.
They are cheaper, have Sleek design like IPhone + Closer like Nintendo Switch.

If you Never care about 3D Slider, NEW 2DS XL is for you.

In terms of functionality it is exactly the same as the new 3DS XL, the only difference being the lack of 3D.

I love using my 2ds xl. I got the white and orange color. I used to have an og 2ds but I wanted those snes VC games and I wanted something more comfortable to hold. I've used the 3d on the new 3ds of a friend of mine and I honestly could care less for it.

SMT Nocturne
Street fighter 3rd strike
Earthbound
SMT Devil Survivor 2 RB

The differences:
1. Weighs less (+)
2. A little bit smaller (most likely a +)
3. Nicer shoulder buttons (+)
4. Smaller stylus (-)
5. Speakers on bottom half (-)
6. Easier to add memory (+)
7. Sounds like all 2ds xl models come with the brighter screen whereas the 3DS xl was a gamble. (+)
8. No 3D (-)

The smaller stylus got on my nerves at first but I got used to it. I found a fancy way to hold it

The case I bought for mine came with a pen-sized stylus (and screen protectors!). So I don't really use the little one very much.

I find the included stylus a bit hard to get out and put back in during gameplay though.
