what ever happened to flipnote studio 3D? it just kinda dropped the radar. anybody have any idea what happened to it or if it was ever officially cancelled or anything?

They don't care. That's the reason. They also disabled online sharing of videos, which pretty much makes this app useless.

Fortunately, you're not quite right. FS3D released in Japan with two online communities: Flipnote Gallery: Friends and Flipnote Gallery: World. Only the Flipnote Gallery: Friends gallery was discontinued along with Swapnote/Letterbox, since it was a Spotpass-enabled gallery for private Flipnote sharing among 3DS friends. The World gallery, more akin to Flipnote Hatena, remains active to this day.

This would be pretty clear if you read the article linked in my previous post, or this article on Nintendo Life itself.

Unless you have evidence that I haven't seen yet, I'm quite certain that the Flipnote Gallery: World gallery remains active in Japan.

...but you do seem to be right in saying that Nintendo don't care.

11 month delay.

It's not a big, complicated triple-A title that got delayed by a few months. It's a simple animation app that's disappeared for 11 months.

not even at E3. f*** this game, i don't even care anymore. this is worse than ProtonJon and Superman 64.

It's pretty cool that the rep is a Flipnote fan.

a WiiU version would be incredible. I would honestly get a WiiU for it.

also, the Japanese version has been updated 3 times. So when we finally get it, it will be a better version!

buuuuut we probably won't be able to post Flipnotes using the camera tool to Flipnote Gallery World.

So I'm going to raise some money by selling shirts on the FS3D Facebook fan page.
This money will be used to buy a 3DS.
Which I will break and smash on August 1, if Flipnote Studio 3D isn't released by then. (One year after it was supposed to come out.)

Brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "Super Smash 3DS"

Any additional money will be donated between Sudomemo and another cause or charity.
