Mozu is basically just Donnel, but this time is a girl.
Rhajat is Tharja
Odin is Owain
Selena is Severa
Asugi is Gauis
Subaki is male Cordelia
Caeldori is Cordelia
Laslow is Inigo
Hayato reminds me of Ricken

Omg thank yoooou and with an even more complete list. I sort of mentioned this a couple months ago, with Hayato & Mozu the most and someone went off on a long rant saying Mozu is NOT Donnel, and how "they're completely different and you need to pay attention to the story better". Nope. They're repeats. They're exactly the same. Both are scared children that leave the nest, become strong, grow up and return home a sort of local icon of strength and leadership, a typical story of "runt leaves home and returns an adult" Then ever since I obtained Rhajat, I get her mixed up with Tharja, because... the letters are exactly the same.

There are some returning characters. I think a few choice fan favorites were retained for the sake of pleasing the fanbase. I'm just speculating here but that would be my guess.

As for some of the others, like Mozu, there are certainly parallels but I don't think it's fair to say they're exactly the same. Mozu, for example, certainly follows the structural model used for Donnel (farm-person with low stats but Aptitude skill), but they are different characters with different dialog. One of the more notable changes though is the fact Aptitude has been slashed from 20% to 10%, presumably for balancing.

In the end, I just think some characters were retained for popularity's sake as a little piece of fanservice (which I'm ok with- I loved all those characters and love Odin even more now than before), while others were modeled using the same blueprint as Awakening- mostly a "play it safe" approach.

Speaking of that, I'm a bit annoyed. I would have preferred to see new characters.

Though I suppose I can look over that, for the most part. Odin and Laslow are likeable, as Owain still retains his silly persona, and it seems Inigo is not as flirty as he was before.

Though there's still Severa (which I didn't liked in Awakening) and she still retains that snark attitude which I despise, but it's not as bad in awakening.

As for the children that look like the FE:A cast, uh, well, Asugi is fine. Cordelia 2.0 is meh, and Rhajat is worse than Tharja IMO.

And lol, now that you mention it, its true that Subaki is Male Cordelia, and Hayato is like Ricken.
I only noticed at first Mozu, but I sort of expected some sort of Donnel would be in the game.

Oh well, still great game.

You took what I said too literally, obviously it's not the same identical character, clearly it's not the same dialog...

How is Rhajat as a magic user in Birthright? Hayato's and Orochi's growths haven't been the best, and I want to use a magic user.
Tharja's personality in Awakening was horrible, but in my save file she flat out murdered everything, so I kinda hope Rhajat follows that line.

I have a chronic lack of time, for everything.

I always assumed they reused some characters because they had to make two different complete casts, instead of just the one (though I know some characters overlap between versions)?

PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

@Luna_110:
Orochi was pretty good by late game. I re-classed her to Dark Falchon and Idk if that helped her MAG growths but she was awesome. Weakness to bows of course but aside from that, very useful magic wielder.

Still haven't figured out how to get Rhajat... whose kid is she?

She's Hayato's kid.
I'll try reclassing Orochi to Dark Falcón, hopefully I'll have better luck with her growths.

Hayato & Rhajat's relationship is stressful. Without the relationship growth, she's a demon child. But she's really good in battle, like right after you get her and I ended up enjoying her presence in the game.

One detail I sort of miss in Conquest are the animal spirit scrolls that usually Diviners or Onmyojis usually use. Monkey, Horse, Dragon and Calamity's Gate are all awesome looking. Not as special as the Tomes.

@Dankykong:
Ya the spirits were really unique- Tiger spirit and Ox always looked cool, but the Dragon... now THAT was awesome!

I actually really enjoyed the scrolls from Conquest too though. Like how Leo would cast a spell and a tree would shoot up from the ground and stuff... thought that looked really awesome too.

I've been using Rhajat in Revelations, and she is a nuke. I paired hayato an Nyx, and reclassed Rhajat to a sorcerer.

I gave her Tomefaire via hayato.

It's not even funny because she deals around 30 to 40 damage with Mjolnir, with a critical hit rate of 39%. Pretty much it 1 shots everyone.

That sounds like Tharja in my Awakening's save file, so I'll give it a try with the couple you say when I get to Revelations!

I married Hayato with Orochi, and Rhajat turned out great, I used a seal to make her a Basara.

She's got 38 Magic(and isn't capped yet), and when you give her a Rabbit Spirit, all hell breaks loose.

I wish I'd known about that!

I would've tried to get Henry or Nowi to reappear in some way. They're my favorite Awakening characters.

So I just finished revelations and it was awesome.

Definitely my favorite out of the 3.

The final boss was pretty cool too.

Also, I now taken the time to listen to the music this game has, and I must say that I feel this game has the better Soundtrack, or atleast more memorable music than Awakening IMO.
