Anyway, it works like Petit Computer for DSi-Ware except:
All the programming is done on PC
I created a simulator so you can actually test/play the game on PC!
You can load any type of asset into the ‘library’ and it will be useable in your project. So for example you can load any type of graphics file (BMP,TGA,GIF,PNG,JPG,etc) and the program will automatically convert it into a useable texture format.
You can load your program when do either with QR codes or from SD card.
Before anyone kneejerk reports this, please read his blog — He's talking about having develolped a 3DS app that will allow you to do all your programming via PC, import it to the app via QR code or SD card, and then instantly run it on your 3DS, basically a Petit Computer-style app without the difficulty of having to program via the 3DS itself. He is not talking about hacking, flashcarts, or piracy. Please respect him and his intent (and our Community Rules) and keep yourselves from doing the same. Thanks in advance!
that said, @hugo: since this is going to be for the 3DS, i'd assume people would be able to take advantage of the 3D effect somehow? I'm not sure how well such a thing would sell in the eShop, but Petit Computer has a very devoted following. you'd be a hero to the little guy looking to poke around his 3D-capable hardware :3
BEST THREAD EVER future of NL >:3

Yes, I am also interested about this tidbit. Skipped out on the DSiWare Petit Computer and the idea of a 3DS version with QR code sharing and PC coding excites me. Hope to see this idea come to fruition.
This sounds interesting, I would like to make games, even if they are little and short and don't make any sense, I made a couple of games on Sploder, but they turned out to not be so good (Rev Up Those Fryers was probably the best game I created, Soda Kid I got lazy with and Mr.Randoms Adventure was a mess), but still, this sounds very interesting and I hope it makes it on the eShop.
I made Sheldon & Mr. Randoms back on Flipnote Hatena, now i'm a kangaroo mod that has a funko pop collection!
I'm not keen politics since that stuff is spooky, I'd rather watch SpongeBob over Fox News anyways!
Yes, you can use the 3D effect. Although at this moment there is no real '3D' API/Engine supported by the framework.
So it's basically 2D games with sprites/objects that can pop-out (sprites can have different Z-axe).
I'd have to see the final product to give a damn. Mainly because Petit Computer is pretty lame when you think about how much less powerful it is over actual DS homebrew.
Still working on Flipper 3D?
This is a signature.
Link goes here now.
Screw you.

So, will this app be made officially through the eShop or something?
I'd love to get it when it's released Though to be honest. most of the fun of Petit Computer comes from being able to write code directly on the console... I don't really care that much about the programs themselves.
Good luck with your project! I wonder what kinds of limitations Nintendo would force you through though.
looks neat. hope you get it off the ground. I had so much trouble understanding petite computer I got frustrated on that very quickly and gave up
Still playing 3DS but will have Switch soon for multiplayer with friends. I miss you guys! Adam, Joni, Gavin and the rest of the Blue Rogues from the Phantasy Star Zero Days.
I'd love to be able to make games for 3DS. I've waited for Petit Computer to be released in Europe but it seems like it'll never happen even though they say they're trying to bring it to Europe. I'd gladly accept this one instead.

When will you be able to release the pc application of this? Do you require permission from nintendo to release your framework since it's just an emulator? @HugoSmits
