I have been having trouble connecting my 3ds and Wii U to a NNID, and the trouble started December. I couldn't connect my Wii U to 3ds due to the amount of traffic, so i created a new one. I then tried to connect to the same club nintendo, but couldn't. So I chose my Wii U NNID to be my NNID for both, so i unlink my club nintendo from my 3ds, and it wouldn't let me. I also could'nt simply change the NNID of my 3ds, so i deleted it so i could connect my Wii U to club nintendo and connect my 3ds to my Wii U's NNID, but it still wouldn't connect to club nintendo, but i did connect to wii u. So i formatted the system memory in assumption my 3ds games would redownload connected to club nintendo. My parents took my 3ds right after i connected it back to my Wii U and today i got it back. I connected it to club nintendo today and went to settings then my downloads, but nothings there. Any advice. Also, i used my Wii U NNID for the ddp promo because i already bought wind waker hd and got 5 bucks back

I might be wrong here and hopefully I am but doesn't formatting the 3DS get rid of everything even the purchases you made?

That was quite a wall. But I have an idea of what the issue is.

But first, check the eShop for your downloads. Settings isn't going to help.

No, it should still be there. But by deleting the NNID, it could've caused a bigger problem. Let's see if the eShop turns up anything.

EDIT: Uh oh, I think you were in the eShop the whole time.....quick, someone post again so I can post! I don't want to edit this in.

@Tasuki It shouldn't, I've formatted before because my sister fulled my 3ds memory (not SD) with pictures and recordings, so I formatted (before NNID) and connected and redownloaded all my games.

@Brewsky It's under settings/other on 3ds, but my purchases aren't showing up

Ah ok so now I know. Thanks for clearing that up.

@justlink Ok, read this slowly.....

When you had your first NNID, your 3DS games were linked to that account. By deleting that account, you permanently lost access to those 3DS games. Which means that you can't do anything about those games should anything happen to them. By formatting the 3DS, you completely wiped the SD card of all of its data except its most essential information. That includes your games. Therefore, from what I can tell, there is no recover those games, because those games were tied to your first NNID, and that account does not exist anymore because you deleted the account.

That's from what I can tell. Maybe (hopefully!) I misinterpreted something.

@brewsky No games were purchased after NNID was introduced to 3ds, would that affect anything? Should i call Nintendo, because all my purchases are on my club nintendo

@justlink No, it shouldn't. When a NNID is created on the 3DS, all software bought on that 3DS will be considered to be purchased when there was a NNID account active. All your games were linked to the NNID

You can try to contact Nintendo about the issue, but keep this in mind for the future: all of your games are linked to the NNID, not to Club Nintendo. Linking a Club Nintendo account just provides bonuses for your account when you buy games. It doesn't do anything besides that.
