Topic: Are download codes redeemed if you tried to enter it but failed due to memory space?

Hi all,

I have a 3DS download code for the eShop (MH4). I wanted to download the software onto my system, but I didn't have enough blocks to install it (it was the immediate next screen on my 3DS). I then realised that I wouldn't have that much time for the game, and so I now want to gift it to my nephew for Christmas.

However, my question is that having initially failed to download the game, does that mean the code was not redeemed (and so it can be redeemed on another 3DS) or that the code was technically redeemed and detected on my 3DS, but the software was just not installed? I really hope it's the former!

Also, I'm pretty sure this code is region-locked, right? It's European, so I'm guessing it'll only work on European 3DS'? Could anyone please confirm?

Any help would be much appreciated - especially knowledge over instinct!

Yes, your code will be region locked to European/Australian 3DS consoles.

To check whether your download code has been redeemed, go into the Settings in the eShop and check your Account Activity. It will list all of your purchases as well as any redeemed games. If Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate doesn't show up in your Account Activity, then it hasn't been redeemed and you're in the clear to give the code to your nephew.

At least with the 3ds, if you can't download the game due to low storage space, then the code is not redeemed.
