I think they've taken the slingshot out of the game: In Wild World you had to cart round a big bunch of tools wherever you went, and since the inventory size in New Leaf is smaller, I can safely assume that it's been removed.
How are you supposed to get the presents then?
In New Leaf, the sligshot's still there. I beluive you have to have a certain UPGRADED t&t mart
