I'm really excited about it! The game does eventually get boring, but it lasts just as long, if not longer, than games with a plot line.
In this new versions, I'd like to have a backyard. I wonder what Streetpass will feature. .
Edit: I'd also like to see an alternative way to know when to water flowers. I can't always tell when they're browned (partial color blindness) so a small exclamation mark above of them would be excellent.
The graphics look a lot brighter! And the new music is nice, too. Although, I don't like the new character design. They're too tall. I think they looked a lot better when they were short. There doesn't seem to be a lot of new items, either. :c

Being able to switch tools without having to pause the game is great news!
I can't wait, it'll awesome to play online.
@John-John: Just water your plants everyday, that way they'll stay fresh for a long time. An alternative way to know if they're dead is pulling them off the ground too. If a plant is dead, it will dissapear, if it's not, it will simply go to your pocket, from where you can plant it again.
Two new videos were shown during the 3DS conference on Monday. One was a gameplay trailer and the other was a round-table disucssion with some people that worked on the game talking about it. In Japanese. SIGH
But the video did show some interesting concept art of the game. The most interesting being a town map...http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x114/SireaRein/map2-1.jpg
WOW! Talk about a huge new town. Amazing imo. From the concept art, screenshots, and trailers I've seen so far (and the new info we got), it looks like AC3DS will be the best Animal Crossing yet. I can't wait to play this game! I wish it was coming out this year. sigh
Looks like they've added a lot to the Animal Crossing world itself. I'm glad they've brought the island back! n_n Oh, and the train, too. I wonder what everything does? :3

I saw the map. Damn, it's big and it looks so lively. Reminds me of Pokemon in how it was drawn out. Looks like the city is bigger, tiny islands on the east and west side of town and an island south with houses. And apparently a town north of the village and a some houses off north of the city. Looks like there's going to be more exploration this time
I wish I could post the map here, but I'm on my phone. I can tip you off to the second popular AC fansite... if that helps

I would've thought that the town itself would still be randomly generated. Maybe the island is just an extension of the main part and then you get the city which would, I assume, work the same as it does in the Wii version. Maybe the area out the back is simply the streetpass display home section.
The train is probably just how you visit someone else's town.........
