It's a simple Breakout clone, but for some reason, there's just something I've personally found so addicting about it, and I've clocked more time into it than any other VC title...

Anyhow, I've finally went through it twice! You can't earn any more extra lives during a second run, so I kept on getting nervous and losing my last two or three balls on the last few levels. This last time, I had built up a full 9 extra lives during my first run, so I had enough to complete the second run!

BTW, I looked to see if this already had a thread (it is an old VC title), but a search just brought up a bunch of threads/articles for Kirby's Block Ball, Alphabounce, Cotoco's Alien Brick Breaker, and general VC threads.

Yeah, i've seen that name mentioned a few times in passing when checking out the Virtual Console's inventory for anything I might want to (wisely) use my money on. The only strict puzzle game i'm interested as of now is Tetris, in fact, i've put 12 hours into it since buying it on April 4, 2012.

Yeah, I visit GB Tetris quite often as well, but for some reason I still find myself going to Alleyway more often, lol.

Is this that GB game that looks like mario is in a little space ship on the cover?
I loved this game and am thinking about getting it! Only I don't think it is worth it's price... :/
Is there a high-score system?

It's not as fleshed out as something like Kirby's Block Ball, but if you're a fan of Breakout style games, or want something more traditional than KBB, I'd say it's worth the $2.99.

And yes, it does keep your high score.

Well, it was a Game Boy launch game, so it's not surprising they kept it small and simple.

I remember playing this game back in the days on my Gameboy so naturally I had to get it on the VC when it became available. I agree its simple but it is so addicting and fun. I think the highest I ever got was like level 6. How many levels does this game have before it starts over?

There are 24 normal stages, and 8 bonus stages, so a total of 32.

This is one of those games that I'd never buy, but if it was offered as a CN reward I'd spend coins on it.

This. I HAVE played it and I do like it but I rather wait for it to pop up on Club Nintendo. Along with Baseball and a couple I'm forgetting.

Well, it gives you a congratulatory message once you beat the last level, then it endlessly loops.
