Topic: 3DS update?

Was it just me or was there a small system update for the 3DS?

Anyone know what it's all about?

It was probably just background stuff that we don't need to know about, nothing exciting.

4.2.0-8E to 4.2.0-9E.
The update took about 2 seconds.
It's most definately just small fixes.

Increases some security options in the eShop, blocks Flash carts, minor background stuff

Are you sure? The 3D has been looking a lot better recently and the Home Menu looks a lot shinier and sleeker... could well just be my eyes.

Looks absolutely no different to me! Your mileage may vary, of course.

It added more password characters to eshop purchases as well.

I love the new update... when you pause your game (using home menu) its icon appears in the top left corner of the screen with the home menu shortcut underneath... it great if you want to break off for a min to see if you have any swapnotes and then jump straight back in. Menu is slicker so performance seems to have improved in the menu at least.

Isn't it obvious? They improved the me thing nobody cared about: The Microphone.

Did you get a Notification about the Update? I've seen nothing thus far on my 3DS indicating an update is available.

@bezerker99 When I woke up today my light was blue, and when I opened the lid it asked me to let it do an update.
It only took a couple of seconds and then the system restarted.

@BenAV - Hmmm...strange. I woke up this morning, turned on my 3DS, had a blue light, but it was just Swapnote Notifications. I'll check again when I go home for lunch today. Thanks!!!

If you try and launch the eShop, it will prompt you to update. You can also force an update by going through the system menu.

A small thing I noticed- retail titles now say, "Available at your Local Retailer", instead of Not Available in Nintendo eShop

I always thought that would confuse people, so that's nice.

We still have "Not available in Nintendo eShop"... either Nintendo gave us a different update or... they think everyone outside of Europe is stupid. :3 Lol jokes.

Thats odd, I recieved Find Mii 3, 10 new puzzles and a few free games?!?!?!?!?!

Im not sure if you guys had answered any of these, but here are some differences from recent updates:

-Home menu changes
-New FindMii and Puzzle Swap games
-Folders can now be created
-eShop is updated (New background, setting, etc.)
