Here’s our guide on Land’s End, its enemies and secrets, and how to reach Belome Temple – Super Mario RPG's next dungeon.

Land’s End Enemies

Gassox / Mokura

This enemy appears in the first area of Land’s End and is also known as Formless. Use a special attack to cause it to take shape, and from there you can pummel it with physical moves.

Chow

Stronger variants of the K-9 enemies from the very beginning of the game. They can potentially inflict poison or fear you, so keep an eye out.

Shogun

Standard enemies that will tank one or two hits before going down. They’re slightly more dangerous than Chow thanks to their Carni-Kiss move, so take them out first.

Octovader

They know lots of powerful magic spells like Drain Beam, and they’re definitely the most dangerous enemy in the first few areas. Focus on attacking these guys first.

Spinthra

A dangerous enemy that can inflict poison or scarecrow status effects onto your party. They sometimes appear alongside Geckits, and when they do you should attack Spinthra first.

Geckit

Weak enemies that occasionally hit themselves in confusion. They’re generally very easy to beat!

Chewy

Walking Piranha Plants that mainly use drain spells. They have very low health and should be easily taken care of before they put a party member to sleep.

Beezo / Shy Away

They’re capable of using some mid-tier magic spells but don’t pose a huge threat otherwise.

Stinger

Frail but dangerous enemies that can inflict mushroom or poison status on a party member.

Fink Flower

They can inflict scarecrow or poison status on party members. A lot of the enemies in this area carry status ailments, so accessories like the Safety Ring work great here.

Kriffid

One of the new enemies here is an upgraded version of the Artichoker. They often appear with Chewies and Geckits, and are the most dangerous enemy in this formation as they do have some decently powerful attacks.

Ribbite

Stronger versions of the Frogog, these often appear with Beezos. Take them down with your standard attacks.

Land’s End Walkthrough

There’s a save block as soon as you enter the area, so use it if you’d like.

Hidden Treasure 24 - Northeast yellow platform

Enter the cannon and fire yourself upward to ascend the cliff. While you’re on the yellow platform, do a running jump northward when the platform is at its highest to uncover a treasure box with a Red Essence inside.

You might notice a little cloud floating about – this is actually a Gassox, an enemy that doesn’t have a form. Attack it with special moves to force it to take shape, and then pummel it with physical attacks. Watch out for its Electroshock spell – it’s devastatingly powerful. Defeat this enemy and continue to the next area.

Jump past the cannon and position yourself at the center of the valley between the cannon and the cliff. In the very middle, jump to reveal a hidden platform. Then you can go into the cannon to shoot yourself up to the platform and then jump on the platform. You can shoot yourself directly on top of the cliff, but you’ll land in a hole with a ton of annoying enemies to fight.

If you don’t care about collectibles, head to the next area. If you do, perform a jump at the middle-southwestern edge of the hole to reveal another hidden platform. Head into the cannon, fire yourself at the platform, and then time your jump to collect the Treasure Box.

Hidden Treasure 25 - Cannon

There is another Hidden Treasure chest on the cliff, this one is hidden and located on the westmost edge of it. It contains a Croaka Cola / Kerokero Cola

In the next area, Geckits hop back and forth between platforms. Battle some for experience points and then jump from cliff to cliff until you reach the next area with a save block.

Hidden Treasure 26 - Blue flowers

There are some spinning flowers from the earlier parts of the game here. Toward the east end of the map are three blue flowers. Position yourself onto the middle flower and then jump towards the rightmost one to uncover a Hidden Treasure with a Frog Coin hidden inside.

Climb up this area with the spinning flowers, making sure to keep an eye out for the Stinger enemies along the way. In the next area is a cloaked figure who runs a challenge; feel free to take it on if you want some extra rewards.

Hidden Treasure 27 - Cave

Otherwise, hop off one of the donut platforms and jump into the nearby cave. The first area contains a treasure box with a Frog Coin, while the second actually has a Surprise Box.

Pass a canine enemy and in the northern corner of the room is a Hidden Treasure with another Frog Coin inside. With this goodie collected, head back the way you came and then hop across the platforms from earlier and into the next room.

Note: this is also where you can find Cricket Jam, a rare item the Frog Sage / Frogfucius is fond of.

Desert - How to find the whirlpool

You enter a desert, and there's a save block and a mouse here. The mouse tells you to look for a whirlpool where an ant pops up and then chase after it.

None of the whirlpools here are the right one, so head northeast and you’ll find a whirlpool with a Shogun inside. Defeat it in battle and immediately enter the whirlpool it was in. Do the same in this second room. In the third room, there will only be two whirlpools. They move much faster here so you’ll need to be precise.

The fourth area’s Shogun will constantly switch whirlpools, so be quick! Enter the whirlpool to find an underground area with a save block, so use it if you like and then open the chest for a Super Star. Run through as many enemies as possible and you should level up at least once.

Fall down the hole and you’ll find even more Geckits, so jump northwest past the boxes and purchase another Super Star from the seller for 400 coins. It’s definitely worth it for the extra experience.

Head into the door to step foot in the next dungeon — Belome Temple. The name might sound familiar!
