Topic: Weird GBC problem

I have a Gameboy color with one game (Donkey Kong Country). When first switched on it works normally for about 10-15 seconds after that the screen freezes, music and sound effects continue normally and the buttons still work. after being switched off and then back on again the screen becomes completely blank until I leave the GBC off for about 6 hours, it the shows the symptoms described above. Has anyone heard of something like this before? Is it repairable? Is it the cart or the GBC? Thanks in advance for any help, Joe

Sounds like it's more of a problem with the system than the game. Is the game seated in the gameboy properly ? I've had problems where a game, on the SP though, wouldn't start properly because the game wasn't in exactly right. The gameboy logo would show up, but the little Nintendo name wouldn't show up.

UPDATE: I tried the game in my SP and it works fine. Without a cartridge in the gbc it shows the game boy logo as expected, if I turn it off and on again a few times the display goes blank (sound still works) until I leave it off for a couple of hours.
