This is a longshot, but I'm looking for someone who has a complete collection of Cube Magazine Issues who can get me a screenshot of a specific article.

The article was a list of Japanese terms used specifically for gaming, and included definitions such as:

  • The moment when you realise you are going to be late because you have to leave sooner than you expect to complete the thing in the game you are playing.
  • The moment when you realise you ARE late for the thing because of the reason above.
  • The syndrome by which you see Tetris Blocks scrolling on the backs of your eyelids when you try to fall asleep.
  • The feeling of waking up as a teenage boy to find your village is ablaze and you are going to have to go on an adventure to save the world.

Idk if this is what you’re looking for, but Internet Archives has a lot of the magazines. Here’s a link to the first one:

However, I do know “ The syndrome by which you see Tetris Blocks scrolling on the backs of your eyelids when you try to fall asleep”! That ones called the Tetris Effect. I’ve experienced this lately, haha! I’ll keep searching though.

Hope you find what you’re looking for!

If you are responding to me in forums or a comment I would much appreciate it if you quoted or tagged me in your responses so I can see it and respond. Otherwise I usually can’t tell that you’ve replied. Thanks!

Went through 40 archived issues out of 52 (?), searched the words "Tetris", "Japan" and "Late"
...and no luck.

I'll try and hunt down the remaining issues and check, but I had a nice time. Seemed like a cool magazine. It has a certain charm that I miss these days. So thanks for sharing
