For those who don't follow, Most of the games Hideki Kamiya and Platinum games developed has a central gimmick to their combat. Viewtiful Joe had the VFX, Vanquish had AR mode, Ökami had the Celestial brush, MadWorld had environmental based combat, Bayonetta (if you count it) had Witch Time, Metal Gear Rising has Blade mode, and The Wonderful 101 has Unite morphs. What gimmick do you think Platinum games will come up with next? I personaly would like to see them inplement music elements to combat. Manipulating the music changes the combat, who wouldn't want to see that?
You're right, Bayonetta really shouldn't count. And Witch Time really isn't a core to the gameplay like other games. Not like it really matters though.
I like how each game has a very unique gimmick to its gameplay. As for music...eh, I love music, but I'm not sure if it'll work.
