Topic: Using Joycon Grip as Player 1 and Nintendo Pro Controller as Player 2?

Hi All,

I wanted to ask, if I have a game like Mario Kart 8 deluxe and can I set it up using Joycon grip as P1 and purchase a Nintendo Pro Controller as P2? Or would the game see the Pro Controller as P3?

The reason I ask is because I have a brother and I want to use the Pro controller and have using the Joycon grib as the second player but not sure if that is possible or not?

Yes it’s possible joys can be set as player one regardless if it’s a pair of joy cons or a single joy con

In controllers , change grip order just hit zL and zR in the order you want to make them

@Nvidia1234 Technically you don't even need the grip. You could just have your brother use the two joy-cons loose if you or he prefer that. The Switch is really versatile in control set ups... in the vast majority of games anyway.

Like @valhallaOutcast said, you just need to change the grip order from the controller section on the main menu.
