Topic: Unable to play Rocket League

Experts ....please need help.

I am dad of 9 year old trying to sort out some problem with the recently purchased online game, I bought the Rocket League online via Nintendo eshop but unfortunately unable to play without having membership. Please can someone help me understand if i need to have membership ( paid monthly or annually) to play this game.

I did write to Nintendo help and their response was very poor as below:
'Thank you for contacting Nintendo UK Customer Support following up with your reply.

In this instance, if you are being prompted to purchase a Nintendo Switch Online membership, that would mean that you are attempting to access an online feature in-game.

If you wish to clarify what game modes in the "Rocket League" are online, we may advise that you contact the game publisher directly (Psyonix), as they are better suited to answer your query'.

I am just trying to play normal game and it doesnt work. Please help !!

It has a single-player campaign, against AI, @Ashly & local multi-player.... NSO isn't required for those parts

@Ashly go to play local and select exhibition match, select your settings and make sure bots are on if you want to play the computer.

@Ashly Yeah, most all online games require a Nintendo Switch Online membership to play online. Exception: some free-to-play games don't require a membership.

As mentioned above, you can play split screen multiplayer offline, or play against he AI Bots. From the menu select Play/Local/Exhibition (Local = offline)(exhibition=single game). I found playing against Bots to be a good way to learn the game. Playing 1v1 can help proficiency in ways team playing doesn't. You can select the Bot difficulty: Rookie, Pro, All-Star. Training packs are a good way to learn the game. If you put some time into training, it pays off. And it's fun to play game after you've built up some skill, believe it or not. I actually play training for fun, too.
