I enjoy a good simulation game every now and then. So it must be said that this one has taken me by surprise. Usually the Atelier series are known for being crafting-centric jrpg games, really good games honestly. But this is a spinoff, a city sim is the core gameplay loop, with a dash of rpg and crafting blended in.

What may turn you on or off the game are the time constraints. You get a certain number of days to complete objectives. It's the antithesis to the Sim City series which really doesn't railroad your experience with deadlines. And from that perspective, this oddly feels more like a sim-puzzle game than a sim-rpg.

I dunno, this game could qualify for any YouTuber "what genre is it?" type of list. It's unique, I can't think of another game like it. It could be considered a hidden gem? Because I can't imagine that this sold well.
