I hate wobbly bottoms....so I made a vid to assist those of you like me....who prefer something firm and void of movement.

(nb.) Not all consoles suffer from the wobbly's

How has this held up over time now? I was skeptical about trying this out with the console being so new at the time. I worried about the wobble eventually coming back worse if I tried this.

@skadollax did this solve the problem long term?

Yes it did resolve the issue permanently.
after many months I decided to try without the tape/vinyl and as I mentioned in the comments section on that video...I actually found the joycons had become firmer after removing the fix.

I guess, in my case anyway, the vinyle forced the joycon into a better position over time and as it stands now I no longer use anything at all. It turned out to be a complete remedy. Added to that Im generally more pedantic about things when they are new.

Dont be afraid to try it, everyone that has done it has nothing but good things to say about the results.

Enjoy...

Just posted about this issue in another thread. Unlike yours, mine didn’t wobble when they were new. I have seen people buy new Joy-cons and the issue is gone. Anyway I just tried your solution but used insolation tape, it worked. They are a bit stiff to get on and off, but I only take them off when my Bro is round, as I only use them in handheld mode. So thank you for the video, very helpful 😊

Glad they worked out. I'm going to give it a go on mine.

So I just did this with electrical tape. One little square did the trick for mine. Makes a world of difference. Thanks for the video and the fix.
