I have been wondering if this might happen myself. Just wonder what the differance will be. I think it was 2k16 that was missing game modes between ps3/360 and ps4/xone.
Since they are bringing NBA 2K18 to the Switch, I think they will bring WWE 2K18 to the switch as well. Imagine playing matches on the go with the split joy-cons!

I sure hope so. It's hard for me to imagine not buying for my main console as I do every year but, that's exactly how that would go down if they put it on Switch.
@Rafx
I usually will buy WWE and NBA 2K for my Xbox One, but I could totally see the Switch replacing my Xbox if they can get the third party support. Really hoping that the Switch version is close to the Xbox One and PS4 versions and that we don't lose modes and features.
I can imagine that if 2K knows there is a big enough user base that will buy the game, they would probably consider putting it on the system. A lot of developers are probably weary about putting more adult games on a Nintendo system with the past Nintendo has had, so it is best to definitely let them know Nintendo fans are definitely interested.
Of course it's possible. The only question is will they? There was a far greater disparity in specs and capability between the Wii and PS3/360, and yet the Wii got plenty of ports, even though most of them were (arguably) inferior, except in circumstances where the Wii version benefited from motion controls or its other unique capabilities (for example, I can't imagine Bully: Scholarship Edition possibly being more fun on any other platform than it was on the Wii with the ability to administer wedgies and throw punches with the Wii Remote + Nunchuk control configuration).
The Wii even had exclusive spin-offs of franchises such as Far Cry and Dead Space, though many of the more "mature" franchises flopped at retail and many third party publishers have since been reluctant to take such gambles with Nintendo hardware.
I have my doubts that WWE 2K18 will be released on Switch, but next year's instalment may arrive on Switch if the console experiences substantial growth after the release of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (and maintains that momentum from thereon). Nintendo can't afford to wait until the holiday period for the Switch to be a success. It needs to be a success now or risk fading into obscurity like the Wii U did so early into its short lifespan.
