Topic: Disappearing NPCs in Skyrim

I created a new game, but after I made my character, I noticed that the Imperial Captain wasn’t there. I made another new game, but then the executioner was gone and the captain was there. The next time, general Tullius.
What do I do?

I removed the game card and put it back in. It’s fixed now, but what happened before?

Here's hoping you get some more entertaining glitches in the future. (like corpses falling from the sky)

I once got a glitch were several NPCs from a town moved to another location to participate in an event, and when I came back to the town none of them returned. So it locked me out of doing their quests or using their businesses. Thankfully I had a manual save I could return to and didn't lose much progress.

As a safety measure, try to keep one or two backup save files and update them every now and then. In the case you do find an actually bad glitch, you can return to the closest backup.

The flying horse glitch is my personal favorite.

It just isn't an open world Bethesda game without multiple saves! Mmm, New Vegas and Cazadores.
