@AshleyQuick Splatoon 2 is another good one. Like Mario Kart 8, it's one of the better games that's playable online, since there's next to no lag. Mario Party Superstars is also a fun time, assuming that everyone has a solid connection, but I'd really only recommend playing it with friends instead of randoms. I played with randoms once and I don't see myself doing that again.

My daughter and her boyfriend moved away for school too....we meet up online about once a week to play Mario Party Superstars. We facetime/duo and play this was how we keep our family game night going. We have a lot of fun!!

Maybe Mario Party? I haven't played Mario Party since the first game in the N64, but if it's like it was before, it's an excellent game to play with your family members (of all ages, really).
Zelda and Sonic forever, just not in a shippy way.
