So my budget is £15.99. I want a action RPG or metroidvania, but more an action RPG. If I had enough I’d get victor vran. Was thinking about okami as I love zelda but tried it on Wii and couldn’t get into it. I think it’s because you play as a wolf so combat isn’t satisfying.
From the length, Chasm is probably longer. But from what I have played of Bastion a few years ago, that game is definitely a gem! Fairly short overall though unless you enjoy doing various challenges.
Blazing through the story kinda put it on around 5-6 hours or so only.
Played Bastion and the story and atmosphere are definitely top-notch for me (Although their other two games are better personally), but Bastion definitely was very touching.
The narrator is pretty much one of the absolute best as well.
I hate when people add a third option but ‘Transistor’ is the follow up to Bastion and some consider it a better game? Just my two cents - I’m resisting the urge to recommend Hollow Knight as I do everywhere else, although it’s hard with my eshop being in $AU to know exactly what sits in your price point!
They’re all considered good games regardless so don’t think you can go too wrong!
Ok, I have both titles now and have finished Chasm. I have to say, Chasm is the much better game imo. Chasm has so much depth and the controls are tight! Bastion just seems like a pretty hack’n’slash. Definitely Chasm for me.
Bastion is good but a very straightforward and linear hack and slash. It's not a metroidvania and the upgrades you earn don't really open the game up at all.
