Hi all ,
Just bought a Nintendo switch at Xmas for the kids and already the game card slot has lost its spring catch with the result being the card just popping out all the time. Basically is it possible if I manage to keep the card in the console that I can then copy the game into the console memory to save keep ejecting different cards ? Many thanks for any help .
@RobKazC
No. It's just not possible. I think theres a mod somewhere, but theres a huge chance that could brick the switch. My reccomendation? Buy another switch and transfer the profile to keep your save data and stuff, then maybe try and sell the old console to one of those people who buys only digital. I think that Nintendo Japan has a service where you can buy simply he console and a pair of joy cons with nothing else, so then you can keep charger cord and dock.

Or don't, it's your time after all.
I'd say contact nintendo support and see how much it would cost to repair. Should be considerably cheaper than buying a new one. It might still be under warranty, too.
Thanks for the replies , got an estimate of about £100 for repair . I don’t really want to pay it after only 3 months but probs gonna be best option . Cheers once again .
@1UP_MARIO ok will give them a try , hopefully will be done under warranty. Will just have to brave myself for the kids being without the games for x amount of days 😢
This problem just happened to me on Saturday. I rarely change the carts and it wouldn’t lock in. Sucks that it’s going to be $100 and I may lose all my save data. Had it since day 1, but I may be done with it after this. That’s hundreds of hours I’m going to lose 😡. I mean mine still plays the games, I just need to close the flap so the cart is locked in. Idk what I’m going to do.
@lovethaxi Send it in for repairs. The problem is the spring and lock system that holds the game card in place. The likelihood of you losing your save data is really low.
@lovethaxi
Send it in to Nintendo support.
1. You won't lose save data
2. It's a simple repair.
They have the supplies at nintendo, so contact support. I doubt the warrenty is still valid, but 100$ is worth it to keep your save data. Also, don't go with a nearby repair place. From my experience, they are anything but trustworthy for something like the switch.
