Topic: Hot to make my Kidd user the primary account?

I have bought a new Switch and transferred my user to this new console. Now, my daughter has a user/account on the old console, I would like to give the console to her and make her the primary user. How do I do this?

If it's just you and your daughter on that first Switch, and you remove your Switch user profile(deactivate the link to your nintendo account), by default the user/nintendo account left on that Switch will become the primary user.

However, if your daughter does not have a nintendo account, you may have to make a new nintendo account for her (if she want's to play online multplayer or make eshop purchases). If nintendo has a customer support line in your region, you may want to try consulting them, since you may have follow up questions for getting up to speed on this, and doing this on the phone will be much quicker than the slow back and forth on a forum.

Note: All digital purchases are tied to the nintendo account that purchased them. Ownership cannot be trasnferred to another nintendo account.

**Forgive me if any of this was stuff you already know.😉
**If anyone else here has is more warmed up on this subject, but all means chip in. I feel myself getting rustier on the subject. Since so few people try to help with stuff like this, I thought I'd try, just in case this question sits a while or doesn't get answered.

@WoomyNNYes Thanks for helping out. While I didn't solve the problem, it is greatly appreciated

@CactusMan Thanks. We did that already though, but it is indeed appreciated nonetheless.

@zcream So, you're still stuck? Sorry to hear. You might need nintendo support to help find your sticking point. Have you tried contacting Nintendo Support?

In some regions, they are fairly good with helping a parent with more than one console. (I know Nintendo UK support hides their phone number. On their contact page, you have to get to email form, and the number is at the bottom of that form. I don't know the Ductch language, so I can't navigate Nintendo Netherlands webstie.)

There's also this page on primary consoles.

@WoomyNNYes Yea, we're still somewhat stuck. However, we have resolved it for now, by just accepting, that she doesn't "control" her console yet, but she can play games.

One solution would ofcause be resetting the entire console - that would fix the problem. We might choose to do just that.

Thanks again for helping out though. Cheers!

@zcream i think if your daughters account is a child account then it can’t be made primary. It has to always have to have a adult account on there.

We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.

zcream

@1UP_MARIO Yea, you might be right. Thanks for the input

@1UP_MARIO Do I remember right, that the age of a child's account cannot be changed? Do you know?

I think someone here tried to do that, and Nintendo wouldnt' allow it. (because NIntendo doesn't want young teens to hack/change the account age)

@WoomyNNYes correct. Once it’s done there is no way of changing it on our side. Only other way is to contact Nintendo. They can actually do alot more over the phone.
