I downloaded Pokemon Red to my 2DS! To play again and have a way to trade pokemon on my own! And I randomly noticed that almost every person in the game talks with short sentences separated by exclamation marks!
Just something I hadn't noticed before! Now I'll never unsee it!
It's called "a capella" (it more or less means "like in the church"), it's a music style where no instruments are used, only sounds made by the person (or group of people) performing.
Back on the "Senpai" topic, it's pretty much the Japanese term for upperclassman.
Ex: If you were a 1st Year (Sophomore) high school student in Japan, the 2nd Year (Junior) & 3rd Year (Senior) students would all be your Senpai. This is the usage you're probably familiar with through anime (with younger students often being infatuated with the "more mature" upperclassmen).
It's not strictly limited to school, however (senior members of a martial arts or sports club are probably referred to in the same way).
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
I went and searched for versions of the Molgera theme on YouTube, then I reached the Hyrule Warriors version of it and decided to read the comments while I enjoyed it...
Then at the very end of the comments I saw a "eh the original was better"... And something about it seemed... Oddly familiar...
