So, it's Independence Day for those of us in the US! How do you plan on celebrating?
Myself, I'm getting ready to watch the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest as per tradition, then I'll finish up mowing the lawn (did most of it last night), test out some of last year's leftover fireworks to see if they still work (don't worry, we got some new stuff as well), then it's off to the relatives' for a long day of good companionship, food, and fireworks!

BTW, the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest ended a couple of hours ago, and Joey Chestnut finally lost the Mustard Belt this year, to Matt Stonie! Stonie won 62 dogs to Chestnut's 60 (the third place competitor only ate 35 dogs).

Anyhow, just got back from all the festivities, and today was pretty fantastic. The highlight of the day was a completely random comment from a kid on my dad's side of the family, who said in the most serious voice ever:
"Watch This!"
[throws an entire package of Snappers on the ground]
"Paul Blart, Mall Cop 2!"
lol.
