Greetings,

Starting about last week, my internet goes from being my normal service, to absolute garbage. It appears to just happen randomly so far and without warning. I've tried all the basic stuff such as turning the router off, unplugging it, resetting it to factory defaults, etc.. I do have some networking background, and I don't see anything on my end that could be causing this. I was wondering if anyone here has had similar problems with their ISP and had a potential fix to tell customer support. I'm tired of calling them only to be told the problem is with my stuff. For example, one time I had to call them on six different occasions to fix a problem that occurred only when it snowed or rained. Turned out one of the relay boxes that provided support for several blocks was not properly sealed and water was getting in to it and knocking out the connection.

its prolly your box or lines getting water in them again, mine does it too. exact same symptoms. your provider has to fix it.

It sounds like you're on a wireless connection; have you tried using an ethernet cable to connect directly and see if it still happens? If it still happens with an ethernet cable, that rules out a lot of things and it is more likely to be a hardware issue or line/box issue.

I know the pains of network problems, I've been having my own lately and I'm still not sure if everything is fixed.

I'm on wired believe it or not. And to just prove how erratic this is, my connection got dramatically better since I posted this, but it's still not 100%.

Looks like I'll be calling their wonderful customer support office soon...(sarcasm)
