Topic: Please help me with my fever dream game

I have been doing my absolute best to try and find this game on my own, hours of searching and reading through the list of 3000 games on Wikipedia to no avail. My cruddy descriptions and googling have not helped me, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

The key part that I remember is there was genetic splicing as either a mini game or part of the larger part of the game. I don’t recall if this was the main portion of the game of if my child brain only decided to play the generic splicing portion of it.

It was more of a 3D graphics type of game rather than it being pixel art. I had thought it was a type of sims related game but I could only find sims 2, sims 3, and their expansions on the wiki and I don’t recognize any of these.

I remember the game being mostly dark, at least I think so. You would play as a human character and run around and do this genetic splicing thing. I want to say that you had to earn money to spend on maybe more generic splicing?

After typing this I realize I remember even littler about the game than I thought. I don’t even know if I was splicing like normal animals or if it was dinosaurs, but I want to say it was more like normal animals.

Please any and all help is appreciated. I seriously think the whole game was a fever dream at this point because of how there is zero info online that I can find at all. Thank you in advance for the assistance.

Did it involve managing a hotel?

@Eel I do not believe so, but it is probable. I’m trying to recall the hotel itself but nothing exactly comes to mind.

I’m guessing I probably would need to use the funds for something other than genetic splicing, but that’s really the only really specific part of the game I can remember

I found it, after more searching, it is the sims in the city urbz game, specifically it was splicer island. Apparently it was only on the da version for splicer island.
