I'm looking to start painting and maybe customising amiibos but I'm not sure where to start. Do you have any tips such as what amiibos are good for beginners and what paint to use.

I'd say that characters like Kirby and Olimar could be some simple ones to start painting on. That way you can see what paints work best on the amiibo plastic and whatever else you need to know about painting amiibo. That's all the advice I have though, I know nothing of painting.
I've never made a custom amiibo myself before but after doing some research, I found some stuff that could help you on this tumblr post, it lists off even a process it appears so this could be very helpful
