So carry 2 Switch's and make 2 Switch's for everyone who wants to play on the TV and in handheld, pay $100 more too. Does that sound smart to you especially after recovering from a production shortage? The only way to dock the Switch Lite would be streaming but the encoder is choppy to save resources for devs (use video capture then use xCloud or Stadia to see what I'm talking about) and it's not compatible with more games than it is so those are games that'll never be able to be played on the TV regardless. It would take a new console generation to make an encoder on a handheld good enough to replace DisplayPort.
Even then, To avoid those two situations, Nintendo would need to exit the TV business. No big 3 console manufacturer has ever left the TV business so he thinks Nintendo is going to be the first one to do it? This is less realistic than Nintendo allowing people to lease one for $15 a month. Believe me people, Nintendo is not doing this and we really should be doing the opposite, discontinuing the Lite and only produce the original.
