As someone who kept tabs on this game for a long time and was very excited for release, I couldn't help but be a little disappointed in the end. It was fun enough I suppose, but not all I was hoping for. Pretty shallow in several places. I also didn't find many of the love interests very likeable to be honest. I don't regret buying it or playing it, just left feeling a little meh. Playtime is also pretty short in my opinion.
I am happy with my decision to pre-order. Is it necessary? Not at all - but as someone who plays handheld 99% of the time I think it will be a nice enough upgrade. I see some comments saying that the target audience for this upgrade won't care as much about visual enhancements because if they did they would play docked, and I disagree. I grew up playing gameboy and then DS, it's just a lifelong preference to be able to game while relaxing in bed - but just because being able to play handheld is my #1 preference doesn't mean I won't pay extra for a better visual experience.
Woo! After 20 minutes of refreshing on both GameStop and Best Buy - was able to preorder a white one through Best Buy. (Pick up, no shipping was offered). On GameStop I was getting messages about preorder being limited to Pro members only while the preorder button was active, now just says Not Available.
I created an account just to comment on this review - I really disagree with the 7 rating. I think this game was maybe not for the reviewer - but is definitely 8+. Please don't be dissuaded from trying this game because of this review! I've put over a dozen hours in already, one of my favorite releases in a long time.

Just redeemed - bummer shipping is 7$ though. Or was for me at least.
