@faint lol....my point exactly. I'd see if all the characters were human and all of them were of one particular race or origin, then that may be classified as discrimination, but damn...this is a Mario game. All of the freakin' characters are weird looking, even the human ones and the others are animals, some of which don't even exist IRL. I wish people would stop trying to make an issue with race out of EVERYTHING. I get that some are upset about battle mode, but race? Someone needs to get a life and quick. Whoever first thought up this BS...
I don't understand why everything has to be a race issue. How many Mario Karts you know with black characters? None. Yes, I'm black, no, I couldn't care less about whether or not Nintendo puts blacks or any other race in Mario Kart. It's just a game, plus, I can race with my Mii if I want to see a character that looks, 'more like me.' I am also very sick and tired of people complaining about the Battle Mode, who cares? Just enjoy the game and make the best of it. I personally liked the battle mode for the Original Wii's Mario Kart and I'm sure I'll find something about Mario Kart 8's battle mode that I really like; however, the case of the Battle Mode isn't a deal breaker for me. If the Battle Mode or the so-called race issue is a problem for you, then keep your 60+ odd dollars in your pocket and don't purchase the game. Out of all the years I've been a Mario fan and I never once thought about race until now. I've always been and will likely always be a Mario Fan, especially Mario Kart. Today isn't any different. Got my copy of Mario Kart 8 yesterday.
