Re: Pokémon GO Game Director Responds To 'Hear Us Niantic' Social Media Backlash

My son is, unfortunately, homebound and can rarely leave the house due to a medical condition. When I was young, I would collect (and still have) all those Pokemon cards as well as play the games. He got into the Nintendo games a long time ago playing on my old Gameboy. We could never play Pokemon Go together though. I downloaded it at release and would catch things and show him but I didn't personally enjoy the game. Not my cup of tea. Once Pokemon Home was released I would send them there for him and he really enjoyed that. But when they introduced remote raiding and the ability for him to catch some of these pokemon he could only see me bringing home, it completely changed the game for him. Made it accessible. I do understand Niantic's position and, as a father, I agree with daily limits. My son isn't allowed on the game all day. I also understand somebody shouldn't have hundreds of "rare" pokemon. We are happy and done once we catch one. But, increasing the price and making it harder to catch those that you are remotely raiding was a terrible choice. We haven't been able to catch a single remote raid Pokemon since this change and, as painful as it is, my son had to stop playing.
