Re: Nintendo Download: 2nd February 2012 (Europe)

@Mardt
If you can, make a Google account and make a Google voice account and call them from there. Not sure if it's free calls in UK, as is US. That's what I do when I contact Customer Service, since I don't want to use my cellphone minutes (Don't care really, my mom flips like a mad woman for no reason).

Keep pushing them.

@24
Yup, this week. On Nintendo Show 3D, the girl said it comes out this week, so it's cool to know when we get games a week's notice

Anyhow, can't wait to get this game. The art style sooo reminds me of the N64 games, while at the same time looking pleasing.

Maybe that Kappa thing gives me that vibe. Oh, and Animal Crossing too

Re: Wii U to Get Online User Accounts

komicturtle

Curious to see if they'll update the 3DS with this feature- since it 3DS will be using the Nintendo Network. Also curious to see if they'll be letting you use your Club Nintendo account for this.

Re: Nintendo Network Will Get Competitions and User Communication

@Highwinter

I personally only care if it works. NWFC worked fine. And frankly, I don't care much about the Xbox Live experience. PSN doesn't really to play catch up, because it's doing it's own thing in it's own way- as Nintendo is.

I rather have diverse services than simple carbon copies. All this is is an improvement of Nintendo's current online offerings. Not a catch-up.

Re: Nintendo Considering Retail Downloads on 3DS and Wii U

komicturtle

Haha,I knew it was possible

I'd probably download Smash Bros 3DS only, since I definitely want that game with me at all times. As for price- the plastic boxes, paper and printing probably cost $1 or less. The most maybe $2.

I can see these retail games selling for $5-$10 than you would if you bought the physical copy, since 3DS cards are the reason for it's price (Memory inside it, content and all).

Who said eShop has a lousy limit?

Re: Big 3DS Release Dates Still to Be Determined

komicturtle

Animal Crossing coming in 2013 is extremely unlikely. The game has been in development since 2009. Right now, it should be in it's final stages.

I see AC3DS coming out between August-November globally. Paper Mario must be a definite November. Though, could be much much more sooner. Nintendo is spacing their releases out so they have at least one new game every month, as well as their digital realeases.

Patience folks.

Re: Operation Rainfall Takes Aim at The Last Story

komicturtle

I think these folks are seriously wasting their time. I believe NoA has "secret" plans to bring those games over. They are spacing game releases out as much as they possibly can, focusing on their popular franchises before lesser known like The Last Story and Pandora's Tower.

Those people need to get with it.

Re: Wahoo, It's a Mario Party 9 Trailer

komicturtle

I'm really interested in this game now. I didn't like MP8 at all, and only borrowed it from my brother's friend. Felt very stale. This one, though, reminds me soo much of the N64 Mario Party games, particularly the minigames.

Can't wait.

Re: Nintendo Reconfirms Wii U Will Not Make Wii Games Sharper

komicturtle

Maybe they can issue a Firmware update for WiiU to do that. Think about it: it's all software, not hardware... I'm trying to remember what console upscales games which never did previously.. 360 or PS3...

Anyhow, it's not a big deal to me. But Mario Galaxy looks beautiful as is. It looks even better in that screenshot (and shows that the Wii is indeed powerful- it's all about the resolution).

Though, not quite as powerful as PS3 :3

Re: Kid Icarus: Uprising Will Use the Circle Pad Pro

komicturtle

I enjoyed the Stylus controls for Metroid Prime Hunters. I hope this game irons out my qualms with the control of that game, though. Never played the CoD DS games but I heard they are real good and definitely show how FPSes can be done on DS, along with Dimentium 1 & 2, and MOON.

Re: Icon Games: "Nintendo's Policies Put Jobs at Risk"

komicturtle

I don't see the point in sharing sales figures for WiiWare. As long as the developers themselves know, it's all good. They could have gone on the record and said that their sales were very unimpressive. I'm sure Pushmo and some other download titles on eShop are really doing well- by the looks of ratings and charts. Why does it matter about the "numbers" behind it? To criticize and compare? That's the only reason I see some non-developers (yes, readers on NL and other places) being hot-headed and hurt about it. I'm not trying to excuse Nintendo for this questionable act- I'm just looking at the big picture.

And for people to say lots of devs are "leaving Nintendo's digital service".. Link? Because from the looks of it, I see lots of developers actually embracing Nintendo's online infrastructure- particularly with eShop.

There's always room for improvement- even on PSN and Xbox Live even.

But that's just my take. And for ICON games to slag off Nintendo Life completely like some immature knob over the Soccer Up! review is really unprofessional and it's the last developer I'd want to work for when I do get into the gaming industry.

Re: Millions of Wii Games Pirated in 2011

komicturtle

@5 No, it wouldn't. Pirates will always be pirates. Most with a mentality of "Wow, this game is good. No point in buying it since I'm playing it now, though."

How do I know? Because, it's that obvious and most are too thrifty to pay for their games.

People can justify all they want. It's like me saying "It's okay to rob a bank.. As long as you pay the money back later or something."
