Re: Review: Mickey's Speedway USA (Nintendo 64)

komicturtle

My niece rented this game from Hollywood Video but never returned it
We played it a decent amount of times. One thing I never liked was how the voices get repetetive. In Mario Kart, you here a character say something when they pass you. Here, someone could be in last place and you in 2nd and you can hear them if they get hit by projectiles or pass another racer. It was so frequent.

Minnie's "ah huh!" annoyed me the most and is what I really reamember clearly..

Re: Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 Steals an OFLC Rating

komicturtle

I'm not sure if I played this one or Wario Land II at a Best Buy store a long time ago on a big screen (it was a Nintendo Demo unit with 4 or 5 gameboys in this large structure with tvs displaying what you're playing on the Gameboy), but I only really played Wario Land 4. I hope the latter is one of the ambassador games. My first GBA game!

And hope this comes out soon too.

Re: Nintendo Download: 29th September 2011 (North America)

komicturtle

Will be downloading SML2 at a later time. Such an amazing game and it was one of the first games I got with my Gameboy Pocket (Kirby's Dreamland, Mouse Trap and The Smurfs were the others).

I can still hear the main theme playing in my head. Something that really sticks with you even after years of not playing it.

Re: Feature: Nintendo 64 Let-Downs, Head Scratchers and Conundrums

komicturtle

I was still playing SNES since it was the only home console I owned up until 1999 when I got Sega Dreamcast. My brother got the N64 for christmas in 1996, just as I did SNES. Hated how I shared my Snes but he never shared his N64- had to ask my mom

My first game for that system was actually Smash Bros (the first I owned). I got my own N64 in very late 2000 where I got Hey You Pikachu!, then followed by Paper Mario, Mario Party 3, Mario Tennis and Pokemon Stadium 2.

Always gamed on my Gameboy mostly, which is why I have a strong pref for handhelds. I miss the days of playing with my brother, nieces and cousins those days. Now, my brother only likes playing games online instead of splitscreen- we played on a smaller screen that what he games on now. This generation of games kinda ruined local-same room gaming. Hopefully with the WiiU, it's revived and comes back strong. Because there's lots of games that have online multiplayer but questionably, no local.

Re: Zelda: Skyward Sword Bundle Costs $115 in Japan

komicturtle

@Highwinter

The most common reason us Americans complain is because lack of jobs and how prices are going up here (besides electronic). Me, I never really complain about game prices. If I can afford it, I'll get it. If I can't I'll suck it up and eventually, with patience, I get it at a budget price. Then again, I pay $50 since I only have a Wii and a computer to game on (as well as my handhelds) which are mostly $10 less than PS3 and 360 games. I never understood why PC games that are also on consoles cost less though...

Re: Talking Point: The Most Memorable Nintendo 64 Games

komicturtle

Thank you for recognizing Mischief Makers. Such an amazing game.

Other games: Harvest Moon 64, Bomberman 64, Duke Nukem 64, Kirby and the Crystal Shards and Pokemon Stadium 2.

Hey You Pikachu! was a great game too. Paper Mario is golden. And don't forget Goemon!

Re: Nintendo Explains Lack of Online Play in Star Fox 64

komicturtle

Yeah, save the money for the next Star Fox project. SF64 has a very strong single player versus multiplayer. It's nice they added things to the multiplayer, also. Can't wait to get the game soon

Plus, maybe it's why MHTriG won't have an online mode- money. Capcom rather save it's resources for MH4.

Re: Capcom Refused Inafune's MML3 Contract Proposal

komicturtle

I knew it. Everyone knew it.

But Capcom, I won't hate you. No. I'll just hate what you did here.. and with MMU.

Dogging someone who's worked with you and pretty much gave you a mascot is real messed up. Must have been them new people.

Yet thinking about it, actually.. Inafune is to blame partly because he should have left Capcom after the games were done.

Re: Review: MotoHeroz (WiiWare)

komicturtle

Another game that works within the limits of Wiiware unlike some games developers are too lazy to do.

I have not downloaded a Wiiware game in a long time (have to download the two Gajin Games and others).

I wish this was on 3DSware. It needs this more than Wii.

Re: Animal Crossing 3DS Looks Suitably Relaxing

komicturtle

@Mully

Yeah, I saw

I want to know what they are saying though...

But AC3DS looks like it's going be the true sequel to the AC games with all that it is packing. I haven't been this excited for AC since Wild World because City Folk just didn't do anything in terms of added gameplay elements and enhancements.

Looks like the game is going to have an emphasis of living in a beach town.

Animal Crossing: Tropical Life or something like that would probably fit. Though, it doesn't snow in tropical environments.

Re: Animal Crossing 3DS Looks Suitably Relaxing

komicturtle

@Mully

Really? Then that is so close to what I wanted AC to be. In the E3 trailer, the beach can also be seen on the farther west side of town, so it's believable.

I hope the water freezes over and you can use the axe to break the solid ice to go into the waterfall cave. Anyone notice it in AC Wild World?
My town had it. Some towns had a rock under the waterfall.

Re: Site News: Nintendo Life's eShop Appearance

komicturtle

How did you guys do it? Did Nintendo approach NL or vice versa?

Anyhow, congrats on the eShop appearance. Hope a Nintendo rep is actually reading feedbacks and comments on this site to get a feel on how most of their fans are feeling

Re: Activision Come Out in Support of Circle Pad Expansion

komicturtle

The way the 3DS looks now with that makes it look very similar to the WiiU Tablet. And now that this attachment adds 4 trigger buttons, the 3DS should be totally compatible with WiiU as an optional controller.

And that's real good, especially since I might as well use my 3DS to practice my Smash Bros. on the go, then use my 3DS as the controller to play it on WiiU as I may be spending more time with the handheld version for the sake of loving handheld games over console.

Sweet deal for me. And I'd like to keep the 3DS' compact design. The touch screen is going to be the best alternative for most camera controls.

I'll be using the virtual D-pad for MHTriG most of the time anyhow, and use the second slider pad for in home use. And $10 is not bad at all for this.

Re: Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 Release Dates Confirmed

komicturtle

okay, so is Link going to be in Mario Kart? Toon Link would fit in perfectly. Come on Nintendo... You have Zelda themed level in Mario 3D Land, you have to have something in Mario Kart 7. I'd love to drive around Hyrule Field, into Castle Town and even Lon Lon Ranch lol

Do it! Do it!

Also, didn't Miyamoto say there would be no streetpass in M3DLand? Cause he saw no use? Guess he found something out.

Oh, and let me use my Mii :3

Re: 3DS Sales Jump 260 Percent in US After Price Drop

komicturtle

Hm, the DS still had a rockey star- I think even worse than 3DS and that picked up the following holiday season a year after it's release. When Holiday 2005 came round, things immediately picked up with Animal Crossing and Mario Kart DS (first online games on the system), but this time, the 3DS is getting it's bigger hits much earlier than the DS did. Lots of games I'm looking forward to on 3DS. Far from a failure in my eyes. If only certain decisions were thought out carefully and done correctly because even though the DS had worse start, it's not 2005. It's 2011. Digging yourself in a hole isn't good these days or even safe for companies.

Re: Hear the Roar of More Monster Hunter 3G Shots and Details

komicturtle

I thought MHTri was beautiful. Same for P3rd on PSP.

But this.. Damn, impressive. Real impressive and a game that should demonstrate the raw power of the 3DS.

But anyways, I might get the slide pad attachment for at home use and use the virtual d-pad (Thank you Capcom. My request has been granted) when I'm on the go. Yet, I'd probably stay at home and play this for hours and hours
